Spring BreakIqaluit, Nunavut, CanadaFor spring break, we went to Iqaluit, in Nunavut, Canada. They have a festival called Toonik Tyme. Since Iqaluit is WAY north in Canada, they still have blizzards, even in the spring!
Most people who live in Iqaluit are Inuit. "Inuit" means "person" in Inuktitut. I called them Eskimos. But Eden, an Inuit girl I met here, says they don't use that word anymore. "Inuit" is the better word to use.
 Los Viajeros wrote a song about our trip here. It's called The Coolest Place I've Been. Get it? It's really cold here, AND it's really cool!
We saw an igloo-building contest. An igloo is a domed hut made from big hunks of snow. To win, you have to build your igloo fastest - then stand on it! But nowadays, the Inuit here live in houses.
It's cold most of the year, so Zach showed me some traditional indoor games. One is cheek pulling. You hook your finger into your opponent's cheek, then pull. The first one to give in loses. Ouch!
 Binky e-mailed me. He wants to go to Iqaluit immediately! He can't believe that cheek pulling is actually encouraged!
To save your cheeks, you can head outdoors for sledding, snowmobiling, or dog sled racing. A team of ten dogs pulls a sled with a driver on it. I think if Pal pulled a sled, it would have to be really tiny.
