DirectionsBuster says that Farah is a human compass. She knows where everything is and she gives great directions. To help your child develop the skill of giving and following directions, draw a map of your neighborhood. Use familiar landmarks. Then have your child give you directions to various destinations using those landmarks and the language of directions (turn left at the stop sign, go two blocks, et cetera). Talk About ItAt Farah's school in Chicago, children wear school uniforms, learn math, read the Koran, eat pizza for lunch, play basketball, and go to community prayer. Ask your child, "How is your school the same as Farah's? How is it different?" Talk about differences and similarities in the school you went to as a child, too. Related Books
