We're David and Anthony and we tested a method to weigh a whale underwater. We assembled a balance beam from pieces of wood. On each end of the beam we hung a toy whale so the beam was level. We placed a bowl under one of the whales and poured water into the bowl. Now one whale was in water and the other whale was out of water. This tilted the balance beam, showing that the water pushes up on the whale in the water. This means it would be tough to accurately weigh a whale in water. Do you have any better ideas?
