Nano: Franklin Institute

location, location, location
The Franklin Institute Science Museum is located in the Museum District of Philadelphia, at the intersection of 20th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. If you're taking public transportation, it's just a short walk from Suburban Station.

what’s to see and do?
The Franklin Institute Science Museum has a planetarium, IMAX theater, and lots of exciting exhibits. Walk through the Giant Heart and compare the heart sizes and heart rates of different animals. Want to get your blood pumping? Test your skills as a star athlete in Sports Challenge, where you can surf, spin, climb, throw, race, and much more. Compare your shoe to a size 22 sneaker belonging to Shaquille O'Neal, or see if you can squeeze into Tara Lipinski's skating costume. Then head to the Train Factory, where you can board a working 350-ton locomotive and solve the mystery of a train wreck. In Space Command, locate your house using a satellite home-tracking device, and check out real equipment and suits used by astronauts to explore space.

just for kids
The Franklin has amazing Camp-In programs for round-the-clock fun. Camp-In combines live shows and hands-on science activities with an action-packed visit. Explore the exhibits after they're closed to the public, enjoy a feature film in the Tuttleman IMAX theater, and wake up with a view of the heavens in Fels Planetarium.
