Ariana Sutton-Grier

This wetland ecologist knew her life's calling by third grade, when she saw the news coverage of the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska. "I saw the photographs of the birds all covered with oil and I knew I wanted to get involved in solving the environment." Today Ariana is on staff at Duke University's Wetland Ecology Department. She's an expert on the many kinds of wetlands found in North Carolina. And she especially loves all the field work her job requires.
