• a piece of aluminum foil

• a jar filled with hot water
• a smaller jar filled with cold water with an ice cube. This jar needs to fit in the mouth of the big one, without falling in.

1. Pull the ice cube out of the small jar and set the ice cube aside.
2. Now add a few drips of food coloring to the small jar of cold water.
3. Put the aluminum foil over the small jar and hold it in place with the rubber band.
4. Poke a hole in the center of the foil with the tip of the pencil. Flip the little jar over onto the big one. Tap it in place. Watch the colored water flow out of the little jar into the big one.
