Show 2: Good Dancing and Bad Teeth

Ruff wanted to try out some new dance moves on the poodle next door, but was horrified when she told him he had halitosis. He decided to send one team of FETCHers to learn how to ballroom dance and a second team out to prove that dog mouths are cleaner than human mouths.

At the dentist's office, Brian and Anna checked for plaque using a bright pink "disclosing" solution. The pinker the mouth, the greater the plaque build-up. Boy, did they see a lot of pink that day! Overall, after testing dogs and humans, they discovered that human mouths were a little cleaner, but only a little. After a while Anna and Brian were starting to behave strangely ... Anna played with plastic models of mouths and pretended they were talking to each other. Maybe that pink disclosing solution was giving off fumes?

So while Brian and Anna donned white lab coats and dealt with the plaque attack, Julia and Khalil learned to waltz at the SuperShag Dance Studio. Khalil and Julia couldn't have appeared more mature or elegant. In their formal clothes (Khalil in a tuxedo and Julia wearing a sparkly collar) they looked so grown-up. They danced like pros - making fancy turns and traveling across the dance floor with ease.

For their efforts, each team earned some impressive points. Julia and Khalil received 45 points for learning to waltz, 30 points for a good attitude, and 10 points for wearing such classy outfits. Brian and Anna together received 50 points for designing a good plaque detection experiment. Brian got an extra 35 points for being nice to the dogs he examined and Anna got 35 points for her unusual sense of humor. Last but not least, Taylor and Noah remained at Studio G and scored 45 points for answering 9 of 10 half-time quiz questions correctly.

As the winners for this week, Anna and Brian got a prize/punishment of having to dance a waltz in the studio. Ruff sang a little aria to inspire the couple as they turned and curtsied in their white lab coats. It was bee-u-tee-ful!
