Have you discovered a mysterious object while snooping around that you have been wondering about? How old is it? Who did it belong to? What was it used for? Where did it come from? Do some detective work on your object and send us your discoveries!

Here's How:

Choose a Mystery Object

Find an object you have a question about. It may be a document or note, an old toy, a piece of historical clothing, an old building or something truly unusual.

Do Your Research

Write your questions about your object down on a piece of paper and begin looking for evidence. Check the Codebreaker for sleuthing tips to help you with your detective work.

Record Your Find

Take a digital photo or scan a photo of your object. If we choose your object to include in the vault, we'll email you and ask you to send us a picture.

Submit Your Mystery Object

Fill in the submission form and tell us all about your mystery object. Give us details about what you discovered about your object and how you did your detective work!
