Discussion questions for kids to bring up with adults What sort of new experiences can I expect in high school, compared to middle school? How did you adjust when you started going to high school? What did you find easy to deal with, and what was challenging? Can we talk about the classes I want to take in high school? Can we talk about the sports, clubs, or activities I’m interested in? Will you go with me to visit the high school to take a tour and talk to some of the counselors and teachers? Can we sit down with a school counselor and plan out my class schedule? If I have difficulty studying or getting all my homework done in high school, what can we do to fix it? In high school, I will have more responsibilities, but also more freedoms. Will my life at home change in the same way? Will any rules change?
