"Well last year in 7th grade{I'm going to 8Th now}My single-gender teachers alwways gave us projects but one of my teachers would give us projects for every single chapters of math and we covered about 8 to 12 projects and it just felt like project after project and then at the end of the year our whole entire school had this 50s 60s and 70s theme for us and for the decade that you were you had to cover a topic and so the seventh graders were the 70s and our theachers gave us six projects to do in ONE WEEK and I had to stay up until like 11: 30 until twelve and school was the next day and I was soooooooooooooo stressed out."

We worked on it together, and it turns out I got a good grade. :)."

The thing is, I always got good grades--Straight As on my report card. We had to create our own island and stuff, and if our economy is good and all. Well, my group wasn't really concentrating, and we turned in our project when it wasn't even finished. So we got a C. Bummer. : (."

I went to my performance '’Äòcause I had to be there so I went and it was at 9:00 am and I didn't care but then when I was checking out because I didn't want to get anyone sick. Miss Rushing asked if I had it. I said no because I didn't want to do it and then she said, "Well you always seem to not bring it on time." which I do. Then she totally turned into jerk teacher and said, "You always bring it late. Bring it tomorrow or you lose 10% off your grade." This was the most I ever have gotten stressed about projects."

"I sometimes get stressed out about projects. Usually I don't though. I only get stressed out in-group projects, when other people don't do their work, and it makes me look bad. A lot of them time people put me in charge because they say I am very smart and I am very organized. I don't mind that, except for when people make me do their work for them."

"If you are stressed out about a big project, just ask your teacher what you can do to get an "A" or "B". If you think of an idea that you want to do, go and ask your teacher if she/he thinks it will work. And if they do, go home and sketch it out. Ask your parents to help you. If it doesn't turn out the way you want, well, just keep doing it 'till it does."

"Since I have a twin sister, we normally get the same projects. Caitlin, my twin, tends to start them two days before it's due and then finish it the night before the due date. I like to start it about one or two days after it is assigned. If we're stuck at one point of the project, we just ask each other or our big sister, Daniela (she's a high school senior, we're freshmen) because she had most of the assignments when she was in ninth grade. My most recent project was to create a mini-bedroom using variable expressions and algebra. Caitlin had the same thing. So, I had a swim team meet one of the days between the due date and the assignment given day, while Caitlin had basketball practice. We went to those things, and then worked on the project together as soon as we got home..."
--Dorianna
"I always, ALWAYS, wait for the last day to do a project. I'm really stressed out and end up staying up until 11 or 12p. M. So I just set a goal. I told myself to do the project the day I got it. I did and It worked!"
--Lilly, 12
"Ok so, I had to make this cell model last week, which I only had 3 days to do. Everyone was stressing about it becuz it was really complicated and stuff. Yeah well, they didn't have volleyball AND cheerleading AND a yearbook meeting during those 3 days!! I had v-ball and cheerleading on all those days and the yearbook meeting on the 3rd day!! Plus other homework and chores. I got so stressed out on the day before it was due, that I cried for like half an hour!! It was the worst!!!"
--Abbey, 12
"I organize myself to do a little bit of the project each night, starting the night after it got assigned. Never EVER put off a project- you may do it with homework or a paper, but you won't be happy or stress-free when your up till 12:00 am the day before it's due trying to finish the whole thing. I have gotten stressed about projects, especially if it's in my worst subjects or something impossible to do. My parents usually help my stay on a routine and everything is alright."
--Lexa, 13
"It was my R. E project. The project was presented in a leaflet so I thought it was gonna be easy. I decided 2 start immediately. I searched everywhere searchable, but could hardly find anything. I couldn't go 2 my teacher 'cuz she's never in her classroom. I was soo stressed out. I tried my best and got C at the end. It was worth a try!!!"
--Lara, 13
"Yes, I have, and what I did was just got it done. That was in 6th grade, but now that I am in 7th grade we have even more homework than that every night! jr. High is a lot of fun though... but it is a lot harder than 6th and below."
--Laura, 12
School is all about having fun and learning and reading.
--Karleigh
Im stressed out right now. Over the summer we have to write book reports on two books. And I typed mine up really neatly and clicked print, only to discover my printer was out of black ink! So I changed it to a grey, and I might be able to pass it for a faded black but one of the sixth grade teachers has a reputation for being mean and a perfectionist, and I do not want to start out the year with my teacher thinking Im a troublemaker. Although it's not my fault our printer doesn't work and my parents are too lazy to buy more ink, is it? Besides, it's not as bad as when I had to print out my report on red paper because I didn't have any white! I guess Im just stressing about something I can't do anything about.
--Kiera, 11
Breathe in and out and do what u think is right.

"My 11th grade teacher wanted me to research on our favorite state. So I got stressed out on what to do first. So I asked my teacher for help. And I got an A on it.
--DracoMalfoy
Whenever I do a project, I do all the work. I am in the gifted program and Im pretty smart, so my teachers always pair me with the people that have a hard time with schoolwork. They MAKE ME DO EVERYTHING! I keep on asking them to help, BUT THEY NEVER LISTEN! What do I do?
--Emma, 11
I am always stressed out about school projects. I am smart, so my groups always expect me to do everything. Good for them. I will, because if don't, no one will. The way I dealt with it is I talked to the teacher. He ended up letting everyone in the group grade the students. So I always get a good grade and they all get bad grades. Now good for me!! Haha.
--Anonymous
I once stressed over a HUGE science project. My topic was which shampoo was more effective: Suave or Head & Shoulders? I chose Head & Shoulders, and we had people from a local high school choose the projects. They said that I had the best project of all, and I won the gold award!
--Lailani
My 3rd grade had to make a geography box. I sorta freaked out because I didn't know what country or state to do research on. Then I had a idea. I could ask my mom! I did my report on Vietnam. My mom was raised and born there.
--Jennifer, 10
I always get stressed out about a project. In 6th grade, a lot of projects were from Science. And in 7th grade, a lot of projects were from Language Arts, History, and Spanish. Most of the projects I had 2 do at home.
--Nik
Yeah. I was stressed out about my science fair project, but I don't remember how I dealt with it...
--Dancinqueen, 13
I had to work with my friend that is a boy named Barry. He's super smart and everyone except my BFF Jenny started bugging us. They were saying things like, How come Paula gets to work with you and not me, Barry? At school the next day it got SO BAD that the teacher told Barry to pick 2 other people to work with. Of course, he picked his two lazy BFFs, Todd and Ed. They didn't do anything, so I did all the work! : (.
--Paula, 13
When I had to do my science project, I had applied for it and did it in the week right before it was due, using up the last days!! And then my teacher told us the wrong due date and we all brought in our projects late!! I was so mad. The science project director said it was ok though. I didn't take my anger out on everyone though. Im proud I didn't.
--Penguinlover, 10
Well, my teacher, he handed us a sack of papers and said This is your homework for the rest of the year..

I don't really stress about real-life projects, but I do stress about Neopets projects, like plots and the stock market. Anyway, I would like to give a shout out to all the Neopets users out there!!! YEAH!!!! I am smile212476, by the way. MY ENEMY IS ASPARAGUS-BOY!!!!!!!!!!!

--Stresss, 10
I start out with my projects a couple of months ahead so I wont get stressed!
--Tiffany, 12
There was a science project at the end of 6th grade, and I had to get an A average in Science that marking period. Our group was behind, then I practically finished it the weekend before the last day to turn it in. Our group was really happy with me. We made last-minute adjustments and turned it in. We must have done well, because I got an A average that period (and all subjects that year).
--Techmath, 12
Projects rock!

"I was soo stressed that I actually had a little mental breakdown. I was scared and I thought that I'd mess up and look stupid. But, after I cooled off I went and studied so that I could have the right state of confidence.
--Deja d4l
Projects are usually easy when it comes to school. I plan ahead and write important days in my agenda I always get A's.
--Anna, 13
OOO yea the whole time Ive been in middle school Ive always had honors or challenge classes and of course the work is going to be a little bit tougher and sometimes I would have a big project in one class and another project in one of my other classes so I would always get stressed out so to deal with my stress I just tried to put more time into my work and then after I got done with my work I treated myself to one of my favorite deserts or doing something I really enjoyed.
--Upcoming eight grader, 13
Yup I get stressed but I just breathe and get it over with as fast as I can!!
--Elise, 11
Maths.
--Acadia, 13
The only project I was stressed out about was when we had to draw, because I will tell you the truth: I HATE drawing.
--Clarissa, 11
Yes I always had a lot of projects due on the same day. Those teachers...uhhh. They make me mad. By the way, did I also tell you my town is messed up? Yeah. Uhhhhhhhhhh. Teachers keep torturing us.
--Summer, 13
A little bit. But I get worried if I dont finish the project on time, but I get it done.
--Eva, 9
Yes. But I try not to be stressed about anything. I dealt with the project by just relaxing and being calm. And I ot an A+! (Not trying to boast. ) : ).
--BusyGirl123
Yeah. I had like 5 projects all at the same time. It really made me upset. And I didnt like it at all. : ).
--Nicole, 12
I never had but heres advice to kids who do stress a lot: When you know you have a project that's due do a little part of it every day. Don't do it the night before it's due! Get organized! You don't have to finish it on the first day. It doesn't have to look like something DaVince did! Hope they work for you!
--Hallie, 11
I have a GIANT project due soon that I havent started yet!!!
--Bri
Yes. Once I had a group with me, and two kids who couldn't take anything serious. I had to make an entire board game with everything, by my self. I got extra credit though.
--Anonymous
Yeah. Im dealing with like 6 or 7 projects right now. I have 1 from science like 2 from social studies, and my homeroom teacher is like giving us even more assignments by having us do like 4 more assignments! Ugh. This stinks.
--: ]
Yes. In fact, it's 1:57 am right now, as I type, and Im dead tired...But I have to study for a test we are having today in social studies...What stinks is that my parents are the types that want my grades perfect, and I really need to ace this. I've been messing around on the computer for so long...I should get to studying...Ttfn.
--Lauren, 12
Um...I sorta got a bad grade on my project bcuz I put the award on the paper in clip art but I was supposed 2 make it. I got a 14 out of 16 on the grades...I am so weird that I should turn myself over 2 da police (jk! ).
--Jon, 9
No, but this lighthouse project I have for school is getting me stressed. At least the weight isn't on my parents!
--Allaboutwitches, 9
Have ambitions in your life? But when you study hard at school people pick on you because you want to learn at school? How would you deal with it?
--Amandajane
Jon, 9: Good job on ur project.
--YogaQueen, 11
I am in my 2nd year in high school. I have had a terrible time all through my school life and I can't cope anymore. I just have to try hard to get through the school day. I have help from the school to try and get me to cope with school but I can't. I get stressed about everything. Even if I have had a day off ill, I am scared of the work I have missed. I will probably never get through this. But just remember you are not the only one that gets stressed about work.
--Beth, 12
On my last book report, I got an 'A', so I know when our next book report is assigned I will be stressed out about it cuz since I got an 'A' on my last, I will feel like I should get an 'A' on that one. I will deal with it by working really hard on it.
--YogaQueen, 11
Yeah, I just had a friend help (I was in 1st Grade).
--Macy, 10
I have a MAJOR project and all you have to do is to look at what needs to be done this week not the BIG picture.

If any1 wants to see my project, check in the My Writing section in Emotions. It is a little long though : ).
--Jon, 9
We're having a music project. It is totally stressful.
--Brooklyn, 11
I actually like projects sometimes, but it depends. We had a project where we had to make a musical instrument, present it, play a tune on it, and in front of the class we had to explain scientifically how it works. We had three weeks, one of which was march break, and by the end of the third I hadn't even started yet.
--Anonymous
When I have a project to be done I always wait till the last minute like I had a whole year to work on a project and I pretty much did everything on the last day and I still haven't dealt with it.
--Vanessa, 11
Brisa, 11 I know just how you feel. Except I had to do it in French, since Im in Fr. Immersion. I get really stressed out at schoolwork and a lot of other things too...

--Brisa, 11
My project was due on Friday the 16th but good thing for the kids that need more time that it was a snow day. Now it is the 17th. Good thing I finished.

We had this really dumb project where we had to read 'Hoot' (not to be mean to any fans, but it was the worst! ) in Reading Group and then do a 30-pg packet on it. It was terrible!
--Liz, 11
I have a science project coming up in like 10 days. I haven't even started. Advice: GET STARTED RIGHT AWAY!!! Don't wait till the end. Get it over with a.s.a.p. Its easier and u don't have to worry.
--Me-me
School and projects are totally stressful and Im one to leave it to the last minute - I dont know why. So let's start there. Everyone gets stressed. Just take a chill pill and relax. Start when your teacher tells you you have it and asks friends and family for help. Get everyone involved.
--Billy
I finally finished my 2nd project of the year. I needed to write about Theodore Roosevelt and then make an award that goes to him and I needed to give a speech. Good thing I finished it about 13 days before it is due.
--Jon, 9
Sorry, guys, answering my own question...But I love your responses! I especially like yours, Akita (12) - we share the same viewpoint (I don't mind essays but hate those visual and oral projects and I use the same techniques you use). I wrote this question when I was having trouble with projects, and here I am, back again, more trouble...But you guys have helped so much! Thanks for everything and keep the responses coming!!
--Amelia, 12
I am sort of stressed out about my language arts project. I need to write down facts about Theodore Roosevelt and then make a speech and an award. I only have 16- days to finish it. (If I turn it in late I am DEAD).
--Jonathan, 9
No.
--CoolBoy, 8
I only got a lil stressed out on a ss project n I just focused on finishing it.
--CuteGirl, 11
OF COURSE! But I just deal with it.
--Johannes, 9
Right now Im really stressing about my science fair project, which in my school, you HAVE to participate in it because it is mandatory. It takes us 2 months to do it and there is SO much to do!!!!!
--Unknown, 12
I usually start a project the day before it's due. I got an A or B (usually an A) and my teacher never realize that. But I don't recommend anyone doing that.
--Jenny, 11
Ah...Im sooo stressed about all 3 of my reports for my teacher and I never have been behind in my life at this school and I go to a private school...So yea! And Im just soo stressed about them cause its been soo long and I still haven't been able to get them 3 done!!! Gosh what can I do?
--Haley
A few months ago I had to do a project about my ancestors and complete a packet and draw a family tree. I had 4 weeks to finish it. So on like the last day I finally finish it. Whew. My teachers would have killed me.
--Jon, 9
My science teacher is like, the only one who gives projects, and they're sooo fun! We just finished making posters according to our assigned element (I got Carbon! ^__^). We had one project from our LA teacher, and that was to write a tall tale and make pics of the characters.
--Squee, 11
Ugh, totally! I hate oral presentations and visual stuff, I'd seriously rather do essays and exams- but I guess the rest of the student population doesnt, heh. Well, I do the work, but give myself breaks at the same time- if the work doesnt involve too much brain input, sometimes I'll work and listen to music at the same time. Make your working time a bit more enjoyable. If you do it feeling sheer torture, chances are your end product isn't going to be your best work.
--Akita, 12
I have been stressed out with projects TONS of times. The best way to deal with them is to do a bit of a project each day. Before you know it, the project will be done!
-Elizabeth, 10
Im never stressed out about a project. When I started 4th grade in Sept. '06, our teacher made us do mini projects in science. Now I have one due in March for the science fair. Im not starting on it 'til Feb. (Im still in 4th grade. I get out in June. ).
--Autumn, 10
I just chill and then I work on portions of the project at a time then once I am done I see what grade I get on it and if it is a bad grade than I will work harder.
--Kk1259930796, 13
I get stressed out with projects sometimes, and the best way to deal with them is to be careful, take your time, start as early as possible, and take it little by little.
--Lizzie, 11
UH yes! I have to do this water project and we have to people about how we waste water even though is not the subject I just wanted to tell you to SAVE WATER OK! People!
--Blanca, 10
At my school, teachers really want to get moving with projects, so they really expect us to get them done in only two weeks, when most kids have three or even four. I am in an advanced group, and sometimes I feel like going down a level to a different team just to avoid these hard projects that keep piling up in all eight of my classes- the projects are tough and require a lot of information, so I am stressed about them when I have lots of them at the same time...It's no fun and I cannot do anything but those projects. I try to do each one a little bit a day, but it is still really hard to manage...
--Alexa, 12
I have been stressed out with a school project. I had to do a chorus project just because there was a concert and I didnt go to it and I have to do a chorus project. I was mad. I didnt want to do it. I said to my mom that I wasnt doing and I end up doing but I never handed it in yet.
--Catherine, 12
Once I had this huge history report to do and I had to make tons of changes to it the day before it was due. I was sooooooo stressed out! I asked my dad to help me and it took some of the stress off. It still took 4 hours to finish!
--SwimFast, 12
"Chocoholic, u r NOT THE #1 MATH HATER...I AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATE MATH SO MUCH I COULD---------------------------------!!! (Even though this is not in the subject, I wanted 2 say it, but the one area where I wanted 2 say it was filled. ).
--ILUVROK, ?
When I have projects I always plan ahead with supplies I do and might need. One thing to ALWAYS remember is that due dates are closer than they seem so get the project done...ASAP!
--Karlie, 10
When I have a project I'll try to make the project have a few minutes each day until it's due. It helps a lot!
--Nischa, 11
I have been stressed.
--Jake, 12
Every time I have a big project worth like 70% of my grade (just sayin') I start to panic and just go crazy.
--Manny, 11
Well what I do when I am stressed about a project I do the project and that makes me feel much better I am actually stressed right now about a project which is due this Thursday but I am away this week end when I go home to day I will work on it.
--Jessica, 12
YES, I have gotten stressed out about a school project. I almost always get stressed out in school. I usually start my projects right after I get them, and then finish right before they are due. But no matter how well I understand a topic, I get SOO stressed out and nervous. I also get amazingly stressed out over studying for tests. But you know what? The more stressed out I get, the worse I do.
--Andrea, 13
I HAVE A CELL PROJECT DONT KNOW WHERE TO GO FIND CELL PARTS!
--Karla, 12
Yori: Are you MissYori that used to come on here, or are you someone else?
--Lori, 11
Yes, I have big time. I only had a week left to do it. I burst out in tears saying I can't do it! But I got through it asking my parents for help. They saved my butt...
--Katlyn, 11
I've never waited till the last minute to do a science fair project, but this time I did and Im not very happy about it because I have to do a poster, presentation, and report. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
--Hi, 11
"London: Thanks!!!"
--Lori, 11
"I always get stressed when it comes to projects. Especially when it involves computers and everything else that's required. I know it may not be the best, but I always end up doing it by the last minute that's because in between those time period where my teacher would assign us projects and the day it's due. I always do nothing until the last minute. That's because I don't want to feel like I'm drowning with too much work. So that what I do, but if the project involves the things I like or something exciting then I would do it right away other that that everything stinks."
--Yori
"Lori: That's okay, we all do that kind of thing sometimes."
--JS, 13
"I don't deal with school projects until the last minute! I'm such a procrastinator...T. T but I end up turning them in on time and getting a decent grade, so procrastination can't be all that bad! XD (this topic is turning into a regular chatroom...Gosh!)."
--NubTheMadhatter, 13
JS: Thanks! I really feel bad about what I said, and I do hope that you will forgive me. I was just really mad about the people faking on the pet page, and I was yelling at you about it, when it wasn't really your fault. Im sorry again.
--Lori, 11
ACK! I have to work on a project currently! It's due Monday! Uggh! : (.
--PopularGirl, 9
JS: You probably haven't seen me a lot on the boards, because I spend most of my time at the pet page.
--Lori, 11
Lori Id chat with you! I think youre pretty cool, Im misunderstood too.
--London, 10
I have only 8 days to finish my history project, and Im not finished yet. I have a lot to do!
--Isache, 11
Yes! We had to do a historical creative-writing letter (D. A. R.) for Reading class. We had to pretend that we were one of the first colonists to go to Jamestown and write a letter to our mother who stayed in England. It was very hard. I first started on the day before it was due! And I stayed up until 1:00 in the morning. But it turned out that I got a 98 in my essay and got entered in the competition!
--Samantha, 11
I did kinda ok, but at least I tried.
--Drea, 13
Lori: Of course I'd like to meet you. I just haven't seen you on a lot on these boards. Now that I've seen more of you, I like you a lot. Don't feel bad!
--JS, 13
Im useless at projects. We have to make a model car right now, and mine looks like a mess of wood and metal. And it has to be handed in soon! I just know it'll be terrible!
--Sarah, 12
Yes! I am always stressed out about projects! Only because I put them off to the last minute, but still. CAN ANYONE HELP???
--Maria
I think that the chatroom might be an ok idea, but I don't like how everybody keeps saying like who'd they want to meet at the chatroom, and it makes me feel sad, because they never say they want to meet me. People just don't really like me (some people do).
--Lori, 11
Yeah...Dont ask.
--Sillyputty, 10
I went to my room brainstormed on how to solve it and finish it.
--Secretly, 9
No because Mrs. Rifner's stuff is tremendously easy!
--Denara, 10
I always do the project the night before it is due. I don't know why, but it's becoming a habit! : (.
--Chelsea, 11
I wish My Teacher Hates Me" was open, but it's not right now, and I have quite a story. My History Honors teacher, Ms. O'Rourke, hates everyone. The first day of class, she started telling us that we were all probably too stupid to be in Honors. She also said not to expect an A in her class, if we couldn't write and we couldn't think, and that kind of thing. So, I was really scared because I always want to get an A, especially in History, which has always been one of my favorite subjects. So, then she said, Who can I pick on?", and she pointed to the girl next to me, Courtney. You! Tell me what Columbus looked like. Well, he was a guy. And he had kinda curly hair, and he wore a pointy hat, and. So, I started to raise my hand, but she glared at me, so Iput down my hand. Then she said Why don't you tell me what Columbus looked like?". So I said, " Well, he died without ever having his portrait taken. All pictures of him were made after his death, by artists he never met. Oh, you're no fun. she said. Ever since, I've been scared of her. Once, a girl yawned (quietly, covering her mouth), and she made her do jumping jacks, by herself. She gives pop quizzes all the time, and they're often really hard.
--JS, 13
I exercise every time I have stressed out.
--Chris, 13
I did a diorama on Dragon Tales and I accidentally put The characters secretly pee in their pants. I tried hiding it to give it to Mrs. Tierney and she knew how stressed I was.
--Bridget
Oh my gosh! That exactly happened 2 me 2day! Amazing. I was researching 4 7 hrs. Straight! I was totally messed up! Then my document had some type of a glitch and erased everything. AAAAAHHHH!!!!!
--Bookwormz-r-cool, 11
When it comes to projects I think I am going to blow. Since I am in middle school it is harder for me to get info. My very first project was about ecology. It had to be 150 words. I thought I was going to fail because when I do certain types of projects I use a lot of high-level words. My science teacher told me that if I use a lot of them there is a chance I might fail it. He might have thought that we could copy it off by our science book. My science teacher gave us a list of things we needed to have in it. I was stressing and I didnt know what to do. When I turned it in I watched the teacher grade it very closely. I got a 100% and an extra 25 points for turning it in so early!!!!!!
--Anonymous
Yes. I have been stressed when it came to talking about boys or girls! I almost refused to do it when suddenly I realized that practice makes perfect.
--Patricia
Yes, I have been. Projects can be so stressful but I just remember that not everyone's is going to be perfect. Half of the people don't even get it so at least I understand the project. If I don't, I ask questions.
--Lara
Yyyyyyyyuuuuuuuupppppppp I have gotten stressed. As 4 dealing w/ it...I dunno I just did miss Amelia girl that posted this...
--Chocoholic, 10
I had to do a project on the presidents. I hated it, so many questions! I could not deal with it any more! So I asked my parents and I got the project done!
--Madison, 9
Well not recently but I am in 6th grade now and in 3rd grade I was stressed out with a book report. I love to read but I chose Meet Josephina an American Girl book. I can normally read one of those in 5-15 minutes but that was so boring then I had to make a mobile out of it and I got a 96 percent. Then in 4th grade and another book report I chose a long book about Fanny Crosby (It had to be an autobiography) And it was boring because I don't like autobiographies or biographies and I was supposed to finish it Monday but I wasn't done and my teacher gave everybody until Thursday and I stayed up on Wednesday night from 9: 30 pm to 5: 00 am I was so so so so so so (a million more so's) tired! I went to bed early on Thursday.
--Tabitha, 11
Lots of times.
--Chloe, 10
The mission report project. I had Mission Santa Barbara. But luckily I got an A minus at least.
--Chocoholic, 10
Ayla, 12**Oh my gosh! That must stink! Im not really 10 but I will be on Sep. 12 (It's Sep. 5) just 2 let u know.
--Chocoholic, 10
I once had to do a School project late! AHH!
--Kristina Kristy, 11
I always seem to wait until the last minute and that stresses me. I try not to but it's a habit that's hard to get rid of.
--Anonymous, 12
I am In a Catholic School! It's a good school! But I have ART! I love art! But i don't like the teacher at all i hate her! So does my brother her name is mickie i call her little miss mickie mouse ha ha ha she is so weird! She even doesn't let us get a tissue and i needed one really bad! And so i raised my hand and she said go get one. So i did and i got like 3 like usually! And she took them out of my hand and threw tem in the garbage. I hated her that minute!!! I hope they fire her! I don't want a mean teacher! She stinks. She doesn't let us do anything. Who cares about her!!!!!!!
--Kristina, 11
I take a 1 minute break.
--Eilish, 12
No. I always seem to finish just in time...me and my friends were doing a project and it wasnt quite done on presentation day, but we finished it just before our turn! Hehe...
--Brie, 13
Well last year we had to do this project in 5th grade about the oldest street and my partner would just talked with her friend in the other group so I ended up doing all the work because when I asked her to help she was doing it wrong and then I was right because I got it all right.
--Taylor, 10
Yes but it think about how good it will feel to get it done.
--Anonymous
"We had a huge state project and we were trying to get it done but my teacher made it so hard that none of us could finish it. It was kind of sad that we didn't get to finish it. It felt like a lot of work for nothing
--Candy, 12
YES! One time I was doing a project with two other girls and they WOULD NOT help! The project was on an animal and you had to do note cards on them (you had to find facts and put them on the note cards) you had to do 15 note cards a week, so that would mean we would do 5 each. The day the note cards were do, they didnt do them! We got an F on the note cards all cuz of them! I did my 5, so I got credit. Anyway for the main project you had to write a 3-page report on them and make a poster board. I had to do every last inch of it! It was NOT cool!!!!!! Then during the presentation, they didnt let me read anything! They wanted it to seem as if I didnt do the project!!! After the presentation, I went to my teacher and told him that I did every inch of the project. The project itself got an A but I looked at their papers, and they were marked D- and under that it said See me after class" they never found out how my teacher figured it out, and I dont intend on telling them!
--Ayla, 12
I had to do a project with the most disagreeable guy in the class! I told myself to BREATHE.
--Strange, 10
Yes I have but then I think about what it will feel like to be just done with the whole and entire thing and then when I think about that I not really stressed out anymore.
--Jennifer, 11
To keep myself from stressing I listen to music so itll keep me calm.
--Danielle, 12
We voted who was the best.
--amber
Not really no but last year I had to make a DNA model for my science class and that was really hard but I did it.
--Skater Dude
It's me again. No. My twin sis Abigail was stressed out about a social studies project but then I helped her. Thanks PBS!
--Amelia, 11
I was so stressed out for this movie project we had to make for Social Studies class. My partner was a girl named Brandi and she did like none of the work. I made all the slides for the movie and took all the notes. All she did was the cover. And whenever I said she had to do some of the work she said she did not care about her grade and did not wanna do any of the work. So I ended up doing all the work. And she was also absent for the 3 days we had to finish the project so I had to pull it all together as well. Then at the end when we had to write a review about the person we worked with she had the nerve to give me a bad review. Well I got a better grade then her so hah!
--Rachel, 12
Well, it wasn't really a project, but it was to do with school - the middle school play I was in was very stressful, especially the rehearsals. I had a really small role, but one way or another, I'd do something wrong every rehearsal that would affect a lot of other people. -_-.
-- Phoenix, 11
Okay... We have this reeeeelly funny teacher. She's really hard 2 get an A from, her standards are that high. Well, for our author projects we had 2 be in groups of 3 and have a project on an author. Well, our class had 16 at the time, so I ended up with just one other person. (go me!)But like, halfwa through the project, a new girl came 2 our grade, and she was in MY group! Not 2 be rude or anything, but she wasnt exactly the smartest person in the world. I had 2 help her with EVERYTHING. And I helped the other guy 2, but he was more independent... anyway... we FINALLY got it done, like, 3 days before it was due. So Im cool with that. Well, the day of our presentation, the girl LOST ONE OF HER MOST IMPORTANT NOTECARDS!!! And she told me during a test so I couldnt just walk out of the room. I was SO STRESSED. All my hard work was going to give me a horrible grade, worse average, and the worst GPA I have EVER gotten in my LIFE!!!(I get total straight A's) The class before we presented our project, she rewrote it. And it turned out we got the best grade out of the whole entire class!!!(thanx 2 the biography I did and the world timeline that HE did).
--Leilani, 13
I never really get stressed over projects because I make a schedule and I set up what I need to do every day. I finish my projects on time and take my time. In the end I LOVE my work. A simple Layout can help... I plan and then do a rough draft. When I am done with my project I add things I might want to end like more color, more pictures, glitter, ribbon, and other things. When I get my project back I am proud that my hard work and not stress gave me that a+ or a (I always get a's on projects a's in history) I don't cram in project and I don't start it at the last minute. I also don't procrastinate!!!!!!!!
--Anna, 12
Guess what? We got a project to do over the summer. We have to read 4 books and do a worksheet for each (that parts fine), write a short story using the lines We had to go in" Alice picked up the book, but Greg snatched it away" (that part will take me a day) and write a 5 page paper of what we did this summer. All this is due second week back at school. I know a lot of kids will leave it till the last minute.
--Violet, 13
More people need to relax in this world!!!!!!!!!!! Goshhh.
--Stephanie, 12
I was stressed out a little when I had to act in my Roman project. I don't like to act and I got sooo stressed because I forgot all my lines! I dealt with it by adding on to what I am going to say!
--Hailey, 12
It's part of being in middle school. We are assigned a ton of projects for different subjects. The easiest was to deal is do them as creatively as possible, turn them in a reward yourself.
--Izzy, 12
At least a zillion times! Maybe because I procrastinated. I had to make a pyramid, and I used yellow Legos to do it. The next day (right before it was due) I found out that you couldn't use Legos. So I freaked out. I used newspaper and old tan paint from my closet. I got a good grade on it, anyway.
--Laura, 12
I had (have) this Wax thing. Oh my gosh, I couldn't go over to my friends or anything. All I did was WORK, WORK, WORK. I hoped it was over. 1 month later (it went by really fast) Im about to present it.
--Amanda, 9
Heck yeah!
--Michael, 13
Well last year I was in 6th grade and I and I had this HUGE project the was 25% percent of my final grade. And it was due the next day, and when I came home I saw that only half of the project was finishedand I was soo stressed. And I was up til' 4o'clock in the morning working on it and I still didn't finish it. I told my teacher the next day that I really couldn't turn in my project in because I didn't finish it. He said not to worry about it. He said that I might have a procrastination problem, so ever since then I've done the fun parts of my project first and then did the more boring part of the project while watching TV or talking on the phone.
--Jazzy, 12
Once we had to finish a gigantic pioneer report due in like three days. I planned it all the week b4 but I got behind it, so I kept working on it, and my parents let me work on it 3 hrs. past bedtime.
--DevilgirlMwaHaHa, 10
We had to do this display on a country. I chose India. But I couldn't think of any ideas for the display. My all-time crush, Sean, had been toIndia on holiday, so I asked him to help. He had loads of ideas, and the project got an A. We got closer during it too, and we went to the movies last week.
--Ciara, 11
Man! I have a bad case of procrastination! The biggest thing that you have to remember is to not wait till the last minute! It takes a lot of stress off and if you're ever in that situation, try to use all your time on it. Don't spend time wasted on watching TV or chatting online, unless you want to look at your project with a big F cuz you didn't have enough time, or end up sleeping in class cuz your parents made you stay up to finish it! Trust me, I've done it before, but luckily I stayed awake.
--Michelle, 10
At the end of my 4th grade school year my teacher assigned a test in social studies where we had to know where all 50 states are located and their capitals. The book wasn't helping, so what I did was I didn't stress out, and I found a game on the Internet, and it helped a lot.
--Isaiah, 10
When I was in 3rd grade, we had a fire poster & essay contest. I totally freaked out. In fact, I freaked out so much I forgot we also had to write an essay. Totally embarrassing!
--Kitten, 9
Sometimes I do like projects and sometimes I dont. It depends on what subject...but really our teacher doesnt tell us what to do. And that was frustrating!
--Nadia, 13
In my Social Studies class we had to make a movie on a civilization we were assigned. We also got to pick partners. I was so stressed because my partner did absolutely NO work. And all she did was complain. Then 2 days before the project was due she was absent. So I had to finish the project. We are still friends, but I will most likely never pick her as a partner any time soon.
--Rachel, 12
"Yes I do, & when I do I put my head down and take a rest."
--Mariah, 12
"I have to do a science project and it's like 45% percent of science grade. Though my science partner always got referrals, and I never got to do it. I got another chance but never did it. Stupid me (lol). I never did it 'cause I was busy with other stuff."
--Ceecee, 12
"I'm was stressed (May 3) when I had to give a project about Kenya, Africa, but I hardly got any information. Then I picked up and now I'm doing better."
--Nelson, 9
"Dragonmistress, what word did you misspell? I'm sorry you worried so much. I have ceased caring what people say or think about me."
--JS
"I had to write a report on my favorite celebrity, last week (my teacher is totally into celebs and everything, which is just weird cause she is like fifty-five). Well tell me I am weird, but I really not into the celebrity thing. Well my favorite actor is (let's make that was) Natalie Portman. So when I looked her up on the web and I started digging into all this stuff about her and some of the stuff was disgusting. So I have sworn to myself I will never see a movie with miss Nat Port again. The next day I told my teacher that I really didn't have a fave celeb, and she looked at me like I knew nothing about the (real) world. She rolled her eyes and said I could do it on my favorite person instead. I did it on my Dad."
--Alia, 12
"Well, Haley (11). First, why did they stop being your friends? Did Breonna say something? Tell me that, then I can help you."
--Helper
"It wasn't exactly a project, but I entered the regional spelling bee. I didn't really want to, but my dad said he thought I could win. Except I was nervous because people in my Language Arts class kinda idolize me because I've never gotten less than 100 on a test (Im sorry to brag, but I have to give a reason for my nervousness!) and I was really afraid of missing a word. The night before the bee, I actually made myself sick worrying about it. I didn't win, but I made it to the finals, and my name was in the paper. Plus, afterwards, my parents took me to Pizza Hut."
--Dragonmistress, 12
"Okay, so right now in reading we have to work on a play. The writing of it went smoothly and we each did our part to make it good, but whn we had our dress rehearsal we were so disorganized, and by the way the teacher was staring u could tell she was frustrated too. So today me and Cady, Gabby, and Kaitlin went into the room determined to get it organized. And now tomorrow we have to perform it, so hopefully taking our time to organize will be worth it in the end!!!"
--Kristine
"Right now we are having to write plays and perform them in front of the class! I love to actso its not a big deal for me! But I was paired with a few people that dont have the same work ethic and skill that I do! Im not a professional, but I know that the things you have to do to make acting effective. We had two weeks to work on it. When the two weeks were up we had to do a dress rehearsal and then perform it! When the dress rehearsal rolled around we were soo disorganized and we werent working together! The actual performance is two days away. We got everything organized and practiced some more. So now I am more confident in our play!"
--Cady, 13
"Me and 5 of my friends are doing a tall-tale play for English. Im in a group with some of my best friends (Cady, Kristine, Kaitlin), a good friend (Josh), and my boyfriend (Aaron). Its a lot of fun, but its hard to get organized when one person wants to hang out with his or her friends in another group instead of practice, or not having all of our props, and I get upset very easily (Im bipolar, a mental disorder that causes me to have extreme highs and lows). I feel bad sometimes because I scream at my friends when they arent on task, then they get mad at me, and we all end up performing badly because we cant just put aside our differences and get into character. Our final performance is 2 days from now, so hopefully nothing goes wrong before then!!! *Wish me luck*."
--Gabby
"Yes, it was a state report."

"Okay, It was all going good until this girl from 4th grade last year moved. Then she came back and now were in 5th grade. She destroyed my best friendship with Kelsey, Sadie, and Jess. Now theyre all being mean to me because Breonna came back, and it seems like she wants to destroy my life. She doesn't even talk to me hardly, but it seems like she enjoys watching me die. Can somebody give me advice to get my best friends back?"

"OMG yeah. I've been stressed bout school projects! Im in 7th grade, so I've got lots of hard projects pretty often. My last one was on Mary McLeod Bethune. I had to do a ton of Internet research, fifty note cards, a three-page work on her accomplishments and a bibliography. It took me a long time, but I got it done because I worked hard and drank lots of coffee."
--Brit, 13
"First I went over what I needed to do, and if I needed to do any research or get any materials. If I needed to research and gather materials, first I'd ask my friends if they knew anything, then maybe go to the library and search online. After I finished with all that, I gathered what I needed, and split the work up with the remaining days left until the project is due."

"Yes, on a 9 week portfolio. It was so hard. She gave us a week for it but there was so many papers and we had to have cover sheets, a cover for each subject, table of contents, a page introducing it, and this sheet that tells her that our parents saw it (weird). And on top of that, going back and forth to mom and dads, softball practice, and play practice (softball practice is directly after play practice). And I try to tell her, but she is so tubborn. But my family told me it will go better next time. If it wasnt for my family I wouldve gone back to school and torn her head off. This helps me a lot. Thank you Amelia."

"Yes. I got so stressed out about a Titanic project in 3rd grade that I threw it away!!!!!!!! I wish I hadnt now, cause it was becoming a really cool project, but I gave up! Never do that!!! Trust me."
--Chimpgirl, 11
"Not really. You gotta tell your parents about it the day you receive the project. Sometimes I wait for the last minute but I always get it done. I am a last minute person and still make honor roll. Im working on starting the day I get it. BYE."
--Eboni, 11
"I got so stressed I cried and gave it my best shot and got an A-."

"Yes when we were doing My Imaginary World by Istayn Byani and I got stressed out, and my teacher Mrs. Machado helped me and she told me what to do. And all of the kids listened to her for directions and even I listened to directions too."

"Yea but you have to work your best and get a good grade."
--Donald, 13
"Well, one time my math/science teacher gave us a science experiment, two element posters, AND a summary about atoms in one week! I had to totally work my fingers off by just typing up my work! God! It took me a while, but I finished without hurting myself."
--HarryPotter, 12
"Yes I have. I have tough teachers, so Im used to all the stressful projects they give us. I deal with it by doing a little bit each night. If the project is a group project I usually go to their house or work out what we're supposed to do between each other. If the project is due the next day and I don't have time to do it (if it was assigned today and I have a busy schedule) I tell my mom who tries to help me or ask my teacher if I can have an extra day."

"I was once in an egg drop contest, and I didn't win. My egg was close to the target, but wasn't intact. I was extremely mad, but later onwards, I realized that the point of a contest was to have fun, not to win."

"NO, NO, NO!!!!"
--Janey
"YES WAY I kept thinking that my project was like a squashed bug. I got frustrated over it and cried. But when I went to school I got over it. I forgot about it totally..."
--Jillyn, 8
"YES! Always! I could be doing better things than doing a project!"
--Kristyn, 11
"I hate school."
--Sierra
"No. But when my fourth grade teachers kept giving Literature Responses every 2 weeks it got pretty annoying."
--Greg, 10
"We had a huge science project coming up and it was worth half our grade! I was so stressed out I felt like I had no more time for me time anymore. So to deal I set my alarm clock for about half an hour. Thats the time I worked on my science project. When the alarm went off I took about 15 minutes to chill. Then for the rest of the hour I worked on my science project. It really helped me to work things out. By the way I got an A+ on my project!"
--Esther, 11
"Definitely! One time, actually, three teachers gave out projects! Whoa, was that tough! All you have to do is manage your time well. Work on it for a while each day. Don't let it interfere with friends and good weather either! If you want to play outside, wait until later. Don't make a promise you can't keep to yourself like saying Oh, I can do it later. If your project is boring, do it with your favorite music in the background or maybe even watch TV. Make sure to have as much fun with it as you can, too! :) I hope I could help!"
--Sarah, 12
"Oh, yeah! When I was doing a whole grade American Rev. project and I was teamed with the school's biggest nerd! I was sooooo stressed that I couldn't bear it! Even after the project!"
--Hannah, 11
"I was at my grandma's house when I remembered I had to do a diorama for school, so I did it. But then I heard that it was due next week."
--Person, 9
"No, I dont get all tensed up about things like that, mainly because Im in 7th grade and I ont get many projects to do, otherwise they are quite easy. But other than that I just do the best I can do and hand it in. If the teacher thinks its good then great, if she thinks its not enough then I work on it until I get to where I need to be. Simple."
--Roxy, 12
"Since I have nine classes in middle school, I had three projects due! I thought for sure I wouldn't get it done because they were time-taking. I just worked hard and eventually got them done. Luckily, I got all A'S and B's on them."
--Ashley, 13
"I just had a huge French project I had to do. It took me all weekend and the poster I made still looked terrible! I was so sad! But my mom said she was still proud of me."
--Libby, 12
"Hoo-Boy! I go to a private school for, well, smart kids, if you like, and I get a lot of hard projects. I stress like crazy, especially since Im in my first year of French and Im in the advanced class. But my biggest stress-test was last year, in fifth grade. For a book report, we had to read a book and then make a worksheet with vocabulary and questions on it for each one. You know how in grade school when you read a book, every chapter there is some kind of sheet for you to do? We had to make that. And I had to do a synopsis, a cover, answers to each one and This is the bad part I had no partner. There was an odd number of kids in the class, so I was the only one alone. Not like Im an extrovert or anything, but nobody wanted to do the book I had picked; do you know how many chapters are in Eragon by Christopher Paolini? I coped like this: I didn't. I stressed CONSTANTLY and lost 5 pounds because I didn't eat pretty much the whole week leading up to the project. Then I realized that I didn't do good work when I was worried, so I asked my mom. She helped me: getting me folders so I could keep my stuff in order, convincing me that my work was ok, giving me ginger ale so I could stay up when I had to work until eleven my mom totally did the trick. And you want to know another perk about this project? Since I typed it and since I was worried, I typed fast and that stuck with me! All in all, stressing out over school projects is not worth it. Just relax over some Coke!"
--Serena, 12
"YES! Whenever we get a project I worry that I will leave it to the last minute because I am no good at doing things over a long period of time."
--Sally, 12
"Yeah, a lot of times!"
--Michael, 13

--Monica, 13
"I had a science project to do and I was really stressed out. I had started out a little late and had to put tons of information on one board. Plus, I had to type it and print it, but my printer was broken! I got some help from my parents and it turned out ok. I even got an honorable mention in the science fair."
--Tayler, 11
"Of course. Once I worked an all-nighter to get my project done and it wasn't due till 4/18!"
