Fly with Jay Jay
The Game:
Jay Jay is ready for a day of flying and you get to tell him where to go! In this interactive flight game, children will fly Jay Jay through Tarrytown and its surrounding areas. Use the arrow keys on your computer to move Jay Jay up or down, left or right. You can also use the graphic images on the screen to navigate Jay Jay. Using the arrows allows children to fly Jay Jay through four unique environments, each with its own weather patterns and landing strip. A basic weather lesson can be taught as your child flies through the environment. If your child chooses to land, the scene shifts, and they are surrounded by the sights and sounds of the environment in which they have landed. Included in each environment are objects your child can interact with, and an offline lesson relating to the environment and the associated objects and weather.
Downloadable Lessons:
The lessons below relate to the games in Jay Jay. Teach your children how plants grow, how rocks tell stories through fossils, how weather cleans the air and earth and how water makes things float. Included in the Lets Think About Water lesson are instructions for making your very own Jay Jay the Jet Plane Paper Boat. Make learning with your children fun and interactive!

Activity Tip:
This game explores how science and nature work together. An offline activity we suggest participating in with your child is to plant a flower garden. This will illustrate to your child how the environment affects plant life. Each day that you water the flowers, explain how water nourishes the flower seeds and makes them healthy, so they can grow strong and bloom into flowers.
