PBS KIDS GO! Jazz Greats Timeline Meet A Musician Bandleader Join The Jazz Band PBS Kids Jazz

Victoria, age 11

At school I play the viola. I picked the viola because it is a very smooth sounding instrument.

My music teacher has taught me a lot about how to play the viola. Viola is an instrument usually known to be played in orchestra.

I first began to get interested in playing the viola in the 3rd grade when I heard my other friends play. At first I thought it would be a blast, but when I started off I found out that it was actually harder than I thought.

I really haven't thought about becoming a musician. I actually want to become a teacher.
