  • Badminton

    In pairs figure skating, two skaters perform a dance routine on an ice rink.
  • Football
    Football is a competitive team sport in which each team tries to score points by carrying or kicking a football into the other team's end zone.
  • Freestyle Skiing
    Like snowboarding and skateboarding, freestyle skiing is the creation of artistic spins, jumps and moves in mid-air by skiers.
  • Grass Skiing
    Grass skiing is summer's version of winter downhill skiing, in which the skier travels downhill on grass.
  • Gymnastics
    Gymnastics is a sport in which athletes combine athletic skill, balance and coordination to perform moves in four events: the floor, the vault, the beam and the bars.
  • Handball
    This indoor team sport is similar to soccer and basketball, with players trying to score goals by moving a ball into a large net.
  • Horse Acrobatics
    Horse acrobatics is a demonstration sport that looks like gymnastics on horseback.
  • Ice Hockey
    Ice hockey is a team sport with six players for each team on the ice at the same time. The team that scores more goals by shooting the hockey puck into the opposing team's net wins.
  • Inline Skating
    Inline street skating is similar to skateboarding, with the skater performing tricks while wearing inline skates, also called roller blades.
  • Judo
    Judo is a martial art that looks similar to karate and wrestling.
  • Karate
    Karate is a martial art - a form of fighting that has evolved into a sport.
  • Karting
    Karting is racecar driving in small race karts.
  • Kayaking
    In freestyle kayaking, the competitor rides a short kayak into rushing water and performs tricks.
  • Meringue
    Meringue is a fight match, similar to judo, in which two competitors score points by landing hits or kicks on the opponent.
  • Motorbike Trials
    Trial is a competition where a motorcycle climbs a hilly terrain.
  • Motocross
    Motorcross is a motorcycle race over a hilly dirt racetrack with many turns.
  • Mountain Biking
    In mountain biking, the rider of the bicycle races the mountain bike on a mountain trail over ground and rocks, and up and down hills.
  • Mountaineering
    Mountaineering is another term for mountain climbing.
  • Naginata
    Naginata is a Japanese martial art in which a stick-like weapon is used to hit an opponent and score points.
  • Rodeo Bull Riding
    Bull riding is a rodeo sport in which riders try to stay on the back of a bouncing bull.
  • Rugby
    Rugby is a team game in which opposing teams move a ball up and down a field to score points against the other.
  • Sculling
    Sculling is a rowing sport in which the rower holds one oar in each hand.
  • Shark Diving
    Shark diving is a form of scuba diving in which the divers swim among dangerous breeds of sharks.
  • Skateboarding
    In skateboarding, a rider performs tricks on a skateboard.
  • Skeleton
    Skeleton racing is one form of bobsledding, which is like riding on a waterslide made of ice.
  • Sledge Hockey
    Sledge hockey is a version of ice hockey, but for players with leg disabilities who play by riding on a sledge.
  • Snowboarding
    Snowboarding looks like skateboarding or wakeboarding. A rider or boarder rides the snowboard downhill on snow and performs tricks.
  • Soccer
    Soccer is also called football, and is a team sport. Two teams compete against each other in a soccer game, and the team that scores the most goals wins.
  • Spelunking
    Spelunking, also called caving, is the exploration of underground caves.
  • Surfing
    Surfing is like riding a snowboard or wakeboard, but the rider is on a much larger board and rides on large waves in an ocean.
  • Swimming
    Swimming is a sport in which swimmers race each other in a pool of water.
  • Synchronized Swimming
    Synchronized swimming is like a ballet or dance performance by a team of swimmers in a pool.
  • Tennis
    In tennis, opposing players, each holding a racquet, hit a ball back and forth over a net.
  • Track and Field
    Track and field is a number of different athletic competitions that take place on an athletic track.
  • Track Cycling
    Riders race competitors around an oval track with a steep upward slope called a velodrome.
  • Triathlon
    It is a race in which competitors swim, then ride a bike, and then run, without taking a rest in between. The person who competes is the triathlete.
  • Wakeboarding
    It is like snowboarding, but done on water. Both feet are strapped onto one wakeboard, and the wakeboarder is pulled behind a boat and performs tricks.
  • Water Skiing
    A water skier, wearing two skis, is pulled by a fast boat while standing up and will race across the water in competitions designed for speed or artistic jumps.
  • Wrestling
    In freestyle wrestling, the wrestler uses a series of moves against an opponent to score points and win the match.
