Cheerleading is a team sport in which the cheerleaders do a choreographed performance to music.
Cheerleading originated at sporting events, with a squad leading the crowd in cheers meant to encourage their team to win. It is now a team sport in which cheerleading squads perform routines about two-and-a-half minutes long before judges who grade their performance on the difficulty of stunts and the squad’s artistic flair. The cheerleaders must move with their teammates in a coordinated fashion, and to the rhythm of the music to which they are performing. The moves include tossing fellow cheerleaders into the air in a coordinated fashion, tumbling and other gymnastic-type moves.
The team with the best performance earns the most points from the judges and wins.
Uniforms – cheerleaders wear attractive uniforms, girls usually in skirts, boys in pants
