What is horse acrobatics?

Horse acrobatics is a demonstration sport that looks like gymnastics on horseback. The rider performs acrobatic moves as the horse moves around a circular performance ring.

How to do horse acrobatics

The rider must have great athletic and gymnastic skills. The rider will perform gymnastics moves lifting and holding himself/herself alongside and above the moving horse, which moves around a performance ring.

Equipment

Horse
Saddle – the rider sits on the saddle, and hangs on to it as he/she performs most tricks

Horse acrobatic moves

The standing – the rider stands on the horse while riding it, and stays standing
Square – the rider hangs off the side of the horse, holding onto the saddle and saddle horn, and holds his/her legs straight up in the air
Killing trick – the rider does a headstand on the saddle, and then does a backward leg drop, dragging his/her legs along the ground and hanging on backwards
