Sledge hockey is a version of ice hockey, but for players with leg disabilities who play by riding on a sledge.
This game is played on an ice hockey rink, using most of the rules of ice hockey. Two opposing teams have six players each on the ice at one time, and try to score goals into a net against the other team. The team with the most goals wins. The players ride on sledges, which look like snow sleds with two metal runners on the bottom. Players use small sticks to push the sledge along the ice and chase the puck, and they use sticks which have a blade on the end to shoot the puck at the net.
The team that scores the most goals in the game wins.

Goal – has two meanings: what you score when you shoot the puck into the net; and a term for the net itself
Shot –a player takes a shot when he/she hits the puck toward the net with his/her stick
Penalty – a player who makes an illegal move is given a penalty, and he/she sits out of the game for a short period while his/her team plays one person short
Ice rink – hockey is played on an ice surface, surrounded by boards to keep the puck in. A common rink size in professional North American hockey is 200 feet long by 85 feet wide
