I then asked my Lola (that means grandmother in Filipino) because she grew up on a farm and knows a lot about hens.
"It´s because she´s laid an egg and she´s telling the other chickens," she answered.
I checked for eggs in the nest and there were seven! Every time I heard the hen squawk, I ran to check for eggs. And there were always more eggs there!
