Finding Bugadee

by Ian C

Five friends that liked to play together, lived in a forest with lots of tall trees near a swamp. The swamp was turqoise with lily pads and lots of fish.

Crocky is a crocodile. Flappy is a Pterodactyl. Sharp-Tooth is a Tyrannosaurus rex. Tinkie is a Tinkosaurus, and Bugadee is a small, green grasshopper who has brown antennae, stripes on his legs and likes to eat leaves

One day when the friends were playing hide-and-seek, Flappy was counting and all the other friends were hiding. It was getting late and everybody was found, except Bugadee. The friends looked and they looked, but they could not find Bugadee. Then one friend said, "When are we going to find Bugadee? We will not give up."

Then Crockie stepped down and heard a soft, squeaky sound. It was Bugadee! They were so happy that they all twirled around, clapped their hands and ate a giant sugar cookie.

One story from each participating PBS station has been randomly selected.
