In Nairobi, Zakia was celebrating his 9th birthday. His parents had given him 500 Kenyan shillings, about $5, to buy a new pair of Sunday pants. As Zakia was shopping, a strong wind blew him into a shop he had never noticed before. The shopkeeper was an old magician.

One story from each participating PBS station has been randomly selected.
