There was a little girl named Charlotte who lived with her mother. Everyday, when Charlotte woke up she would ask: "Mama, what will we do today?" and her mother would reply: "Well, we have to gather wood, cook, build a fire, and clean up." Every time she would whine, "Do we have to?" Her mother would firmly say, "Yes". So every day they gathered wood, cooked, built a fire, and cleaned up. Then she went to play.

One story from each participating PBS station has been randomly selected.
With over 45,000 entries, it is not possible to share all stories online.
