On July 26, 2004, my family and I left North Carolina for Alaska. My dad, mom, brother and I got into our black, Chevy, crew cab truck and were off. We had a U-haul filled with toys, books, my bed, our T.V. and computer.

I looked back at our old house as we drove away. I felt sad and happy at the same time. I was sad to leave but happy to go to a new place.

One story from each participating PBS station has been randomly selected.
