Kentrosaurus meaning ´pointed lizard´ (promounced: KEN-troh-Saw-rus) (from the Greek kentron/KEVTpov meaning ´lizard´) was a Jurassic genus of dinosaur closely related to the better-known Stegosaurus. Kentrosaurs were African cousins of the North American Stegosaurus. They differed in size, in the shape of their armour plating and in their bodily flexibility, however.
