Mystery on the Docks

This is a spirited story about Gregory, a goat that is a very picky eater. He refuses to eat the usual goat diet and his parents become very worried. In the video LeVar explores how people as well as animals need a nutritionally balanced diet. Join him on a fun-filled trip to the San Diego Zoo, Billy and Nanny’s Barnyard Cafe and visit with a famous New York chef.

Here are activities to do after watching this episode:

Short-order Shortcakes

This recipe is so easy, your children can help at every step. An adult should always be the one to use the oven.

Ingredients:

  • refrigerator biscuits (the largest size is the best!)
  • strawberries
  • sugar
  • whipped topping
  1. Sprinkle strawberries with sugar to sweeten according to your taste. Allow to stand for 1 hour.
  2. Follow the directions on the package to bake the refrigerator biscuits.
  3. Split each biscuit. Layer with the bottom half of the biscuit first, top with strawberries, then add a dab of whipped cream, add the top half of the biscuit, add a few more strawberries, and finish with another dab of whipped cream!

Shifty Messages

Have some fun with family members and friends writing shift messages. All you have to do is think of a message you want to write, such as:
Meet me by the park at noon.
Then write the message in code by changing the spaces between words. For example:
Me etme by the par katno on.
The person who receives the message will have to figure out how you shifted the letters and spaces between words!
