Perfect The Pig

Language: English

Imagine a pig with wings! A tiny pig is granted his wish, which leads to an almost perfect life. LeVar discovers Kermit the Frog at the library and they discuss Kermit’s “special friend,” Miss Piggy. Viewers visit a hog farm in Hawaii, learn about funny pig poems called pigericks, and find out the history of piggy banks.

Here are activities to do after watching this episode:

Perfect Pig Puppet

To make a perfect pig puppet you will need:

  • lunch sack
  • glue
  • construction paper
  • scissors
  • markers

Directions:

  1. Draw the pig’s head, eyes, nose, and mouth on construction paper and glue to the bottom flap of the paper bag.
  2. Cut ears, legs with hooves and a tail, and glue in place.
  3. Cut out two wings from paper and glue in place.
  4. Put your hand inside the bag. Move the flap up and down to make your pig talk.
  5. Retell the story of Perfect the Pig using your puppet.

Piggy Biscuits

If your family enjoys biscuits for breakfast, your children will love to make these.

You will need:

  • biscuit mix
  • water or milk
  • flour
  • rolling pin
  • 2 1/2-inch round cutter
  • raisins
  1. Follow the directions for making the biscuit dough, using milk or water.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to a ½-inch thickness.
  3. Use a round cutter to cut out piggy heads.
  4. To make piggy faces, take small pieces of extra dough and shape into two ears and a snout. Brush each piece with milk to help it stick to the head.
  5. To finish each piggy biscuit, add two raisin eyes.
  6. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 450° for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden.
