Chalk WalkIt’s easy for the whole family to become involved in creating a mural on the sidewalk, using chalk. You will want to use the huge chalk sticks that are especially designed for drawing on sidewalks. Everyone can draw what they want, but remember to “think big.” Don’t worry about your sidewalk, since the art is temporary. The first good rain will wash it all away. So if you want to enjoy your mural for a while, check out the week’s weather forecast and choose a sunny week to be creative. Miniature GuitarsTo make miniature guitars that your children can take along wherever they go, all they need is a paper cup and some rubber bands. (Styrofoam cups are a bit sturdier!) Place 2 or 4 rubber bands across the opening of the cup and around its bottom. The thinner the rubber band, the higher the sound, so try using rubber bands of varying widths. Then pluck away. If the cup is white, your child might enjoy decorating it before attaching the rubber bands. |
