Have you ever planted a seed and watched it grow?
You will need:
- styrofoam cup or plastic planter
- potting soil
- seeds
Directions:
Fill a cup or planter with soil until it is about three-fourths full. Then take your seed (you can use one or two). Push one or more seeds into the soil. Add soil to cover. Pour about an eighth of a cup of water over the new planting. Remember to add water every few days. Place your plant in a sunny window. See how long it takes before you see something green poking out of the soil. Then see how fast your plant grows!

Rain Painting
You will need:

Sprinkle different colors of powdered paints on a white paper plate. Set the plate outdoors on a rainy day. After a short time, grab an umbrella and run outside to get the plate. See what painting Mother Nature has created for you!
Time for a Nature Hike!
What you need:
- paper or plastic sack to hold the treasures you find
- jacket or sweater if it is cool
- proper shoes for walking
With an adult take a walk around the block, in a park, or in a wooded area. Look for all of the living things you can name. Collect souvenirs to bring home, such as seeds, leaves or small rocks. Talk about which are living and non-living things. Have fun. Hunt for tracks left behind by humans or wild animals. See if you can identify them. Remember to listen to all the sounds around you.
