OwenLanguage: English | |
Owen’s parents try to get him to give up his favorite blanket before he starts to school, but when their efforts fail, they come up with a compromise that works for everyone. LeVar flashes back to his childhood and remembers changes he had to adjust to when he was a child — including a baby sister. |
Here are activities to do after watching this episode: |

Have an Indoor PicnicWhat you will need:
|
Make a New Blanket for OwenCut a few pieces of fabric scraps into 5” X 5” squares. Create a new blanket for Owen by putting the pieces together like a quilt. Sew the pieces together by hand or with a sewing machine, or use the pieces to “recreate” the blanket in different patterns again and again by not fastening the pieces together. Have a Pet ParadeGather favorite stuffed animals and dolls, and plan a parade route through the room, apartment or house. Then have a “pet” parade. Talk with your child about their “pets” — when they received each of them, what special features each has, and so on. Continue the discussion by helping your child remember some of the changes they’ve experienced over the past year. What can they do now that they weren’t able to last year, how much they’ve grown, and so on. |
