This is a spirited story about Gregory, a goat that is a very picky eater. He refuses to eat the usual goat diet and his parents become very worried. In the video LeVar explores how people as well as animals need a nutritionally balanced diet. Join him on a fun-filled trip to the San Diego Zoo, Billy and Nanny’s Barnyard Cafe and visit with a famous New York chef.

Here are activities to do after watching this episode:

Family Reunion Scavenger Hunt

This is a great activity for children to do during one of those huge family reunions!

Beforehand, create a list of questions for the hunt. Children will have to interview relatives to find out the answers.

Sample questions:

  • How did Grandpa propose to Grandma?
  • Who traveled to America by ship?
  • Who is the oldest family member?
  • Who traveled the furthest to get to the reunion?
  • Who has the loudest laugh?
  • Who has blue eyes?

and so on…

  

Bunny Hop

Have you ever tried to do the bunny hop? Place a big ball between your legs. Bend your knees to squeeze the ball and hold it in place. Bend your arms and hands near your chest like the paws of a rabbit. Hop straight ahead like a bunny, while you hold the ball between your legs. What a workout! It is harder than it sounds.

Teaching Music

Just for fun, parents teach your children a dance you learned when you were young. If grandparents are available have them do the same. Then your children can teach you a bit of hip hop or whatever they enjoy doing.
Another idea is to have a family karaoke night. Plan ahead by choosing music and writing down some lyrics that can be photocopied or printed out on your computer. Put some tunes in the tape recorder or CD player and sing the night away.
