A machine with a suction cup pulls the plates out of the mold. Then, the plates are fire polished; the fire smooths the rough edges of the plates. A person checks out the plates to make sure they are just right. This person also counts the plates and puts them into stacks. |

After the plates ride down a conveyor belt, they come to a decorating machine. First, the machine puts each plate into its place and brushes it off. Then, a part of the machine paints blue flowers onto the plate.

After the plates are painted, they travel through a long oven. The oven is very hot, but it needs to be to bake on the painted designs. When the plates come out of the oven, they need to cool for a while. Then, a person checks the pates to make sure that they are all just right and packs them into boxes. Now they are ready to be sent to stores all over the world.
