What was it like to move to a new place?
It was at first very frightening. I got off the plane and all these white
people rushed up to hug me. I thought, Oh God, the NAACP isn't here. There's no
one here that I recognize. The Ku Klux Klan has chased me here. But then these
white people said "We're from the NAACP."
