Which was the weirdest attraction?
There were lots of those, too! One of the strangest-looking was a place
we visited on my first vacation when I was three. Santa's Land was on the
Indian reservation in Cherokee, North Carolina. Picture this: images of Native
Americans and tepees and totem poles, against the backdrop of the beautiful
forests of the Great Smoky Mountains. And right in the middle of all of that is
Santa Claus and his workshop. Strangest of all, the place wasn't even open in
the winter! They had an artificial igloo, penguin, and North Pole that REALLY
looked weird standing there in the 90-plus degree heat.
