An interview with Max Morath

Farm life was the same as it had been a hundred years before. There was little or no technology. Kids started work as soon as they were big enough to pick up a hoe. And it was hard work. But by 1900 cities were thriving. They were exciting, and there were jobs -- not only for boys, but for girls. So many young people left the farm.
