	Ragtime was a very exciting, highly rhythmic, and challenging music. It influenced every form of popular music that followed it, from jazz to rap. It wasn't being recorded yet, but people played it in live shows and at home on the piano. Ragtime was controversial. Some people thought it was bad for morals. You can take some of the articles written about ragtime and just change the date. They could be articles written about the controversial music of today.
