I loved it! It is such an interesting book. I love mystery books!!

  • Anna, age 11
I thought the book was OK because in some parts it got confusing. If I however knew what the details were about I probablly wouldn't have read it.

  • ZOOM Fan, age 11 of Miami, FL
I had to read this book for school and when I first saw the cover I said,"No way! I am not going to like this book!" We started reading it in class and when I went to bed, I had finished it. I loved it and reread it again and again!

  • Jess, age 12 of Appleton, WI
I though the book was very intersting! The pentominoes part was pretting neat who ever though of the word anyway... We read the book with our grade at school and we got to work with real Pentominoes!!! They are soo cool!! They are awesome as is the book!

  • ZOOM Fan
I like this book. It gets a little confusing, but I liked it. I normally wouldn't read a mystery book or one about math but this is awesome! Read it!!

  • Anna, age 12 of Madison, WI
I love this book. I even have my own pentominos.

  • Haley, age 11 of Peoria, AZ
chasing vermeer was okay. I was kinda confused with the pentominoes and the strange conections. Who would keep track of wierd coincedences like Calder and Petra did? Although it had some action I didn't think that it was the best book that I read over the summer.

  • Keira, age 8 of Rockville, MD
chasing vermeer is the best book ever. 5, 000 toes!

  • Zach, age 12 of Charlotte, NC
I liked it. I kind of got confused about the pentominoes. I also kind of got bored of it in the begining then it got better.

  • Rasai, age 9 of Milwaukee
It was okay. But its not really my thing I mean I love a good mystery but this book was well boring because 1 I bet penemetos or what ever those things were dont exist 2 the pics were kinda weird and 3. what happend to the 3 people who got the letters? it all of a sudden changed to calder and petra! it was okay I guess but not my thing.

  • Alina
I love this book! It's such a descriptive and unpredictabe mystery. It's also a very good and unique idea. I give it 5 toes!

  • Lauren, age 9 of Newetown Pa, PA
i love the book sooooo much I could not put it down it was so good

  • Marissa, age 13 of Wilmington, NC
This book is seriously sort of dumb. I mean, if you think hard enough, anything can seem like a coincidence, and the characters in this book are thinking way too hard and unlogically. The pictures are sort of ugly- all of the people have humongous noses. And the characters were so amazed that it could rain frogs in two different places. There is a know scientific explanation for this phenomenon, and it isn't all that amazing. That whole obsession with the "pentominoes" thing is so dumb. But I must admit that I would love to be in that teacher's class. All in all, this book is yucky.

  • Sarah, age 12 of Peoria, AZ
I love it! It's the best book ever! It's so exciting! I've also read the sequels, "The Wright 3" and "The Calder Game". They just keep getting better!

  • Courtney, age 11 of San Antonio, TX
The best book ever!!! It is so myserious, and it kept me on the edge of my seat!!!

  • Clare, age 11 of Geneseo, IL
I didn't like this book because it made no sense whatsoever. What are pentominoes? I'll bet that no one anywhere knows how they work and even what they are.

  • Keishanne, age 12
I love this book. It's amazing the way all these mysteries and odd coincedences come up everywhere, and how there never exzctly "solved". I like the way the characters grow and develop, and I think it's a really exciting book.

  • Tiffany, age 12 of Cocoa, FL
Awesome, it was such a complex book and it a thrill ride all over. Its like, something amazing is about to happen then, poof its not what you think. It ends up happening at the end and the person charged isnt the teacher, the old woman, or the man...

  • Lily, age 9 of Chicago, IL
It was an awesome book! It was a mystery and I love mysteries!

  • Megan, age 11 of Guelph, ON
I don't like chasing Vermeer! It's so boring!

  • Hannah, age 10 of Cazenovia, IL
Awesome! I love all books, but this was one of the best. The way it deals with the patterns and everything is so cool! I've read this book five times and heard it on tape. If you haven't read it, you are missing out!

  • Sarah of Canal Winchester, OH
It's not my thing because in the beginning it just skips from the three people who get the letter to Calder and Petra without having any idea whats going on, The book needs transitions so it doesnt leave you clueless.

  • Sarina
This book is truly amazing. It's so much fun to try and solve the mystery before the end of the book. It's basically an appropriate version of "The Da Vinci Code". I truly loved it.

  • Winnie, age 12 of Brampton, ON
I love Chasing Vermeer is so mysterious and each of the pictures give a clue to what the ending is. However I never figured out the clues of the picture. I totally love this book, I've read it thousands of times.

  • Madeline, age 10 of Portland, OR

  • Sunny, age 13
I love this book, now if our not the thinker type you better put down the book, because it makes you think, but its great the way everything fits together. I like wright three as well simply because the shapes and frank loyld wright is something I love since I;m into that sort of thing so yeah if you don't like big thinking books, put it down. If you do, pick it up, you won't regret it.

  • Rose, age 11 of Essex Jct., VT
Chasing Vermeer is a superb book because its not just a fiction mystery like Nancy Drew but a mystery that's tied in with history. You learn about this mysterious artist who was an actual person. And the people involved are two people most unlikley to get together. This book might modivate you to learn more about Vermeer. In my opinion, Chasing Vermeer is a book that is almost in line with Harry Potter.

It was ok, and it would have been great but: 1. The author sort of seemed to have given up on the book at the end and given it a quick one. I think that she could have done better. 2. The coincidences seemed too un-realistic-fictiony. Im not saying it was bad, I just didn't like some of it.
