Bob the Builder's Spinach Squares

Ingredients

  • 1 -10 oz. Package of spinach
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup (8 oz.) shredded cheese - mozzarella, cheddar, jack, or a blend.

Supplies

  • Baking dish
  • Saucepan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon

Directions

  1. Grown-ups: preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Place spinach in a medium saucepan with enough water to cover.  Cook until spinch is wilted - about 3 minutes.  Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, Sproutlets can help mix flower, salt, and baking powder.  Stir in eggs, milk, and butter.
  4. Fold in spinach, onion, and cheese.  Sproutlets can help by adding the pre-measured ingredients.
  5. Grown-ups, transfer mixture to baking dish.  Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Cool before serving.  Grown-ups, cut into squares and everyone can enjoy this tasty spinach snack.
