Supplies

 2 clothespins

 Tissue paper

 Paper plate

 Safety scissors

 Glue

Instructions

  1. Trace eight castanet shapes, 3 inches long, from tissue paper, using the image here as your guide.
  2. With the help of a grown-up, children can cut the shapes out of the tissue paper. This will make the great “crinkle” sound of the castanets!
  3. Next have a grown-up trace and cut four castanet shapes from the center of paper plate.
  4. Glue one tissue shape to each side of the paper plate castanet cut-out.
  5. You should now have four “castanets”. Glue one to each side of the clothespins.
  6. Taa Daa! Your very own castanets!
