Nina shows you how to make sewing cards by cutting shapes out of cardboard, punching holes around the edges and threading yarn around the shape!

Supplies

Cardboard
Crayons or markers
Safety scissors
Hole-puncher
Yarn
Tape

 

Instructions

  1. Draw the outline of an animal, shape or other object on the cardboard.
  2. With the help of a grown-up, cut the shape out of the cardboard and punch holes along the edges of the shape.
  3. Take a long piece of yarn and wrap a small piece of tape around one end to make it pointy.
  4. Tie a knot at the other end of the yarn.
  5. Thread the yarn through the holes around the outside of the shape.
  6. When you’re finished sewing, tie a knot at the other end and have a grown-up cut off any extra length of yarn.  Make a whole family or group of sewing cards!
