Raise money or donate your allowance

Collect money through fund raising events and donate it to the American Red Cross or your favorite relief effort. Rescue and relief organizations desperately need money to help the victims, and you can help by raising money from your family, friends, and neighbors. Here are some cool ways that you can raise money and make a difference:

*Collect your loose change: Take an empty jar and put your spare change in it every day. You'll be surprised to see how much you can collect with left over lunch money, the change from a store or the money you've saved in a piggy bank.

*Collect change from the community: Before you begin, decide where you will collect the change. Will it be a school, your religious institution, community event, restaurants, supermarkets, retail stores, local offices, airports, or near the intersection of a busy street?

*After you've collected the coins, you can take the change to a coin star machine (located in a grocery store) and push the button that says donation directly to the Red Cross.

*Or visit your local bank and ask for coin wrappers, wrap the coins and take them to a bank for bills. Then ask a parent or trusted adult to write you a check so you can donate your proceeds to The American Red Cross or your favorite designated charity.

*Thank the donors!
