Show 3: The RuffMeal™ Needs More Roughage

Ruff was trying to sell his latest product – the RuffMeal. So first he sent Talia, Isaac, and Liza to meet with Rolando, a chef who would endorse the RuffMeal. But the FETCHers quickly found out that the meal had too much packaging. Rolando told them about ways to make a greener meal – one that's better for the environment. They were challenged to make a meal for 50 kids that was delicious, used local fresh ingredients, and created less waste. They got tasty ingredients at the farmers market and made berry soup and pesto sandwiches, all served on recycled paper plates. The kids loved it!

Ruff also decided that the commercial for his new and improved RuffMeal needed a good jingle. So he sent Bethany off to work on it with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops. She learned about what a conductor does, and how he controls the beat of the music, and the dynamics, or volume. She practiced using her baton (a fancy stick) to tell the musicians how to play. Then she put on a tuxedo and conducted the actual Boston Pops!

Brian and Liza competed in the Halftime Quiz Show back at Studio G where they earned a respectable 40 points!

After the adventures, it was back to Studio G for the Triumph Tally:

Talia, Isaac, and Sterling scored:

  • 85 points: for creating a sustainable lunch

Bethany scored:

  • 80 points: for being the first kid conductor of the Boston Pops

BUT: "Is that all the points a dog can give?"

Talia earned 5 extra points for suggesting that they go to the farmers market to buy the ingredients for lunch! Her 90 points made her the daily winner. As a reward, she won tickets to the Boston Pops holiday show. Awesome!
