Ruff meant to write a book about okra (the vegetable) but the title said it was about orcas (the killer whales). Whoops! He tried to get Tank (his new bulldog assistant) to take the books back to the printer to fix the title but had no luck. Blossom suggested he get a pig to help out since pigs are smarter than dogs but Ruff was skeptical.
To find out if dogs or pigs were smarter, Ruff sent Bethany and Brian to meet a pig farmer. They designed easy, medium, and hard mazes to test the animals' intelligence. The dog finished faster than the pig all 3 times! Then they did the hard maze again to test which animal had a better memory and the pig improved a lot! The farmer said experts generally believe pigs are smarter than dogs so the piglet got the crown.
Ruff also heard that whales were good communicators and thought that Shamu might be a good replacement for Tank. So he sent Liza and Sterling down to SeaWorld to find out. They discovered that whales can understand hand signals and sounds to do tricks. Then they determined that the 2 best sounds to use to communicate with Shamu were a horn and rocks. After the work was done, they watched Shamu perform in front of a live audience!
Isaac and Talia stayed home with the humans for the Halftime Quiz Show. They got every question right for the maximum 50 points!
Back at Studio G, Ruff was ready to hand out some points for the Triumph Tally:
Liza and Sterling scored:
Giving them a total of 80 points!
Brian and Bethany scored:
BUT: "Is that all the points a dog can give?"
Bethany had the brilliant idea of redesigning the maze test to check the animals' memories. For that she got 5 points, making her the daily winner with 85 points and earning her a trip to a water park!
