Characteristics of Victorian-style 1890s houses:

• Large size, irregular shapes, pitched roofs
• Large bay windows, many rooms, fancy moldings and wall fixtures
• Grand staircases and huge living rooms

Typically, these houses were built for wealthier families and their servants. The kitchen was only used by servants. Valuables (like real silver silverware) were stored and lock in safe places.
