Changing
Times
Modern Conveniences such as, electricity, plumbing, gas and electric
heat have changed homes drastically.
For example, in the 1890s, electricity ran off the street car
lines, and was not widely available in homes. Most homes became "electric" in
the 1940s. Other features like pipes for plumbing, fuse boxes,
light switches and overhead lights, and cabinets were added as
houses were "modernized." This makes it hard to tell
how old a house really is. Things are not always what they seem. |
