Let's Think About... Water
Water is part of nature.
Every living thing on earth needs water: people, plants and animals.
Water is in the oceans, the lakes, the rivers, the ponds and puddles.
It is even in our tears. Do you know that most of your body is water?
Water weighs something and it is heavy.
It is water's weight that helps things float.
Water is a liquid and it takes the shape of the thing that holds it.
Water molecules like to stick together.
Water can change and it can make things change.
Water vapor goes into the air to make clouds.
When water freezes it becomes ice.
When ice melts, it becomes water again.
Water can change back and forth from a liquid (water) to a solid (ice)
Being able to change back and forth is called "reversible".
Some things will dissolve in water and some things do not.
Water cleans things and dilutes some things.
Most of our earth is water.
