I love synchro because it's a lot of fun. I met some of my best friends there, and when we all work hard together we have a really great time. I like being creative, trying to make up new moves and new ideas for routines. I like working and getting somewhere because of my hard work and dedication.
I first started synchro in the summer because I saw the older girls wearing makeup and gelling their hair and I always wanted to be just like them. They were always doing such interesting things in the water and I wanted to do it too.
I'm motivated to keep trying in my sport, even at the hardest and most stressful times, because I know how hard I've worked and how much of a waste it would be to just give up after all that I've worked for. I always want to try and achieve as many of my goals as possible, and if I wasn't motivated then I would never be able to do that.
In the next 5 years I would like to make it on to a national team. It's always been my dream to be one of the best in my sport and being on a national team would definitely prove that I am. I would encourage little kids to try synchro because it's really a lot of fun. Even if they don't think they're good enough, if they practice then they'll improve. I wasn't very good at all when I started—in fact I was horrible—but I've worked hard for the past 6 years and it's paid off and I'm very happy to be where I am right now.
