Author Biography
Teri Vestal, a graduate from the University of
Texas of the Permian Basin, has enthusiastically taught
children in the public school setting for more than 15 years.
Many of Teri’s classroom days have been focused on
addressing the educational kaleidoscope of individual needs
of all students, including bilingual students and students
with learning disabilities. Working with diverse populations
has helped Teri develop flexible strategies needed to teach
a broad cross-section of learners. Inspiring those students
to read and develop critical language and writing skills
is what Teri enjoys most about teaching.
Aside from teaching, being married
for 26 years, and enjoying her three college-age children,
Teri’s love for writing educational content for properties
like Scholastic’s Maya & Miguel, Clifford
The Big Red Dog and Dear America brings her
enormous personal and professional satisfaction. Teri currently
teaches Special Education at Greenwood Intermediate School,
Midland, Texas.
