Should Tibet be Free?
Alicia, 10 of Dayton, Maryland
Posted March 25, 2008
On the National Public Radio, there was news about the US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi meeting with the Dalai Lama and about a peace protest march in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. They raised two sides of the debate over whether Tibet should be free. Many Americans side with Tibet while communists and native Chinese side with China.
Jane Chen is one person that believes Tibet should be part of China. She was born in China and immigrated to America when she was twenty. Living the time when communist leader Mao Zedong ruled, she has learned to respect the communist ways. Chen was also taught that Tibet is part of Chine and should be. "I've seen lots of news about Tibet and how they should be free. I don't believe that it's true." She even shows a website talking about how the news is fake.
Feng Ouyang is also from China. He was born in Shanghai and immigrated when he was twenty-two. Even though he was also educated to respect the communists, he has different ideas. "I remember at the time, you didn't learn education at school. In my college years is when China loosened up and I actually learned. China was so closed I shudder when I think about it. That's why I feel sorry for Tibet," Ouyang recalls.
Linna Liu is a fifth grader in Indian Hill Elementary school. When she heard about the news, she remembers a story that her class read in fourth grade. "People in Tibet were afraid of the Chinese soldiers grabbing them up and killing them or sending them to prison." Liu recalls. "Many people escaped to India for safety. Even though they have to learn a different country, they are free there."
Secret Ingredients
Rose, 9, of Texas

Pull out your made Jell-o, your gummi bears, your marshmallows, and your ice cream. On the Jell-o, gummis, and marshmallows, you will see gelatin (or gelatine) on the ingredient panel. You may think: "Sure, it's just another ingredient in my food." Gelatin is a lot more than you think it is.
It is animal bones. Animal scraps. Everything gross. Next look at the ice cream. It's still gross, but not as much. You may see gelatin, although that ingredient is most likely to be replaced with carageenan on the list. Carageenan is a kind of seaweed!
Pretty gross, huh? Did you know lots of things have gelatin, even those candy hearts at Valentine's day. So, before you eat anything like that, you just might want to look at the ingredients! Whipped cream also has carageenan usually!
Twister

What do you do when a twister comes? Do you hide? Do you run? Do you scream your heads off? What you should do is make sure you are prepared! Like if it was a test. Here some ways to keep safe.
First what you should do is make sure you know the difference between a watch or a warning. A watch means a twister can be forming. A WARNING is different it means its coming to you or somewhere nearby. So that's why you should watch the weather and the news. It will keep you posted.
Now if one is coming to you, you should either get in a basement, a bath tube, or a closet. But say if you don't have that stuff, you can go to a neighbor's house. But you better run over there. If you don't have any of this stuff, you should huddle together.
Now I had tell you that there's one more thing. Stay away from windows because the glass can break and cut you or get in your eyes. If you do get glass in you, I have one thing to say. You must have a million hospital bills.

Today the Lakers play against the Boston Celtics. Everybody is saying the Lakers are going to win, but we already know who is going to win the game watch and you'll see.
The game is started and there's been a foul out for a player off the Lakers but they are still winning. They are now tied 78-78 and Kobe just hit 2 3's so now it's 81-78. Kobe has about 70 something points, just in the third quarter.
The Lakers finally win again and the score is 127-88. Kobe Bryant has 122 points out the whole game. The Lakers have won all the games that I can think of in history today.
School's Horrible Unfair Rules

Ever think your school has unfair rules? Well your right! Sometimes when you have fun and think someone's funny, you hit 'em on the arm? Well then the teacher yells at you? Well you should know doing that may be violence but not something to hurt someone. It's something to be friends with someone. Those teachers don't notice that! This is my quote that we will tell the teachers about this!
Smoking Stinks!

Who WANTS to smoke? Because your best friend is doing it? It makes you look cool? Pretty dumb reasons, huh?
Here are the facts:
1. Smoking makes your teeth yellow.
2. You have really bad breath.
3. Your chance of death between the ages 26 and 65 in doubled by 100%.
4. It affects the people around you.
That's not all! Don't smoke. You hurt yourself, and the people around you. If you of someone you know is smoking, don't wait, tell someone. Not just someone. You mom, dad, aunt, uncle, or a adult you trust.

Magic Tree House The Musical

There is a famous book series call the Magic Tree House, now it is coming to the stage!!! The story is about a brother named Jack and a sister named Annie. They go to Camelot for Christmas.
Jack and Annie have not seen Morgan in a very long time. One day when they were visiting the Frog Creek Woods, the treehouse was back and they found a note that sent them to Camelot. Morgan did not send them to Camelot, but who did? Maybe it was Merlin the Magician. This is the first Merlin Mission in the series.
Morgan has told Jack and Annie that Camelot has lost its happiness. Maybe if King Arthur could see Jack and Annie then he would be happy again. My advice is to read the Magic Tree House Series and to definitely read the Christmas in Camelot book.
Blendy Pens
Michelle, 9, of Maryland

Blendy pens were accused by all kids around the world that Blendy Pens is a RIP-OFF! Kids have proof! How? Because they are just normal markers getting rubbed together when you twist them! You know when you rub markers together it makes a new color? Same with Blendy Pens!
And still they do the business! When they produced it in one state, the people in that state killed almost all of the workers! Even the person who owned the business! I don't believe this! And thus they still go on and on to every state and country until the end of the world. Oh my goodness gracious what evil! And this is the horrible news!
But the good news is that the president is almost shutting Blendy Pens down permanently! WHOO HOO! But (sigh) the business is still going. And do you want to know why! Because there is a chase! The business is running away from the president! But the president had an idea! He put all of his men in every single state and country! So whenever Blendy pens come the men will arrest them! All thanks to the president of ending Blendy Pens cruelty!
The Missing Chair

The chair was outside Mr. Monday's room and he had come out to sit down on it. He called and said that every time he went to sit down on the chair, it disappeared. So that was creepy for him.
He said the chair was peach color and it had peeling chips of paint coming off of it. He also said that it had been lately moving by its self. Mr. Monday said that he was very scared and that he did not know how to stop the chair from doing that. And he said that when he was outside at the side of his house he saw a skeleton one part of it was showing and the rest of it was under the house.
He does not know what to do so that's what we are here for!!!!!!!!
