Clothes That Can Clean Themselves... A Big Hit!
Nicholas, 10, of Troy, Michigan

Are Titanium Dioxide clothes the right ones for you? Look before you leap to buy them. Titanium Dioxide is no new thing. In fact, it's been around for centuries. You'll find it in everyday objects such as sunblock, paint, and even toothpaste. Recently, Titanium Dioxide has been found to self clean clothes. Clothing covered with a thin layer of Titanium Dioxide has been found to eliminate even the toughest stains with only sunlight and some good luck, but is it really worth buying? Read on.

With this revolutionizing invention, you can forget about the need for a washer. Clothes with Titanium Dioxide clean themselves with only sunlight. Place the stained clothing in the sun and watch while the coating reacts to the sunlight and slowly burns away the mark. Don't worry, this coating of Titanium Dioxide doesn't hurt your skin. It has been tested and proven to be safe for everyone. As a matter of fact, Titanium Dioxide has been found to have an increased UV protection factor, keeping the sun's harmful rays away from skin. So consider tossing your sunscreen out the window and putting on a Titanium Dioxide coated shirt instead.

The clothes are not without their setbacks. While the coating mostly removes stains, it doesn't do a "sure-fire job". The stains lighten, but not fully disappear, often leaving a ghost-like ring around the outside. If the sun isn't shining and your clothes are in need of cleaning, you're totally out of luck. Since Titanium Dioxide relies on sunlight to burn the stains, lack of direct sunlight renders the coating inoperable and keeps your clothes dirty. Don't think that you can put this coating on wool or hemp; it doesn't stick to either one in their natural states. Wool and hemp must be chemically reprocessed for the Titanium Dioxide to stick.

If you're still thinking of buying clothes with Titanium Dioxide, keep in mind that the clothes with Titanium Dioxide will be more expensive than ordinary clothes due to more expensive processing. Although buying clothes coated with Titanium Dioxide may be a good choice, you also must consider some factors, such as Titanium Dioxide needs direct sunlight to work and it can be very costly to buy. At McKinley many students prepared to go to Orlando, Florida. They were going to perform in Disney World. These students have really been working hard and preparing for their performance. They were told that they did a very, very good. Many people said that their performance was remarkable. It must have took a lot of practice.

McKinley is doing a High School Musical play. There were auditions held. Many students got the parts that they really wanted. While many others students got other parts. The stage crew has been working very hard to prepare for the play. Hopefully this play is going to be a success. When we see the play I will give a review of it.

When Mr. Joffrion (drama teacher) presented a portrait to Halle Barry she was very impressed. The portrait was painted by a sixth grader (Terani). She was most impressed to see it was done by a sixth grader.

Young Girl Saves Camper!
Sheyanne, 9 of Yusoft
Posted April 9, 2008

It was a nice day at Thinker Camp for Children, on a July day. At 6:00 PM, young Sheyanne, her sister Leah, age 7, and their friends Ryan and Kimberley, age 10 and 8, were walking on the trail. Then Ryan let out a scream! The camper was on fire!

Shelly Nextar, the campground supervisor, says "I think the fire was caused by the campfire nearby." Ryan, Kim, and their family are asked to stay with Sheyanne's family for the rest of the camping days.

In the distance, young Marsha saw the flames and called the fire department. Marsha had saved the camper and was the hero that day. Ryan, Kim, and their family could not thank Marsha enough. The camper was now fixed. Sheyanne and Leah still remember Marsha, and whenever Ryan Kim, their Mom or Dad look at the camper, they remember the camping hero and they always will.

What I am saying is that in California we found a tunnel at the end of a house basement -- based on true story. Who, What, When, Where, Why and how read more to find out!

In California we had found a basement with a tunnel at the end of the block. Well our inspectors Julie and Mark have inspected and this is what they say.

Julie: I have researched this whole area and this is what legend says. I will let Mark tell.

Mark: It was used for World War II. While countries were fighting, soldiers used it for shelter, safety and hiding places.

Julie: That's what we think.

Me: Now let's talk about serious info. Who found it?

Julie: People who live here called us in to see this.

Me: What was it made for?

Julie: Aboriginals or pioneers even the soldiers themselves made it for protection.

Me: when did they make it?

Julie: Wow that is a tough one. Let me think...maybe in the late 100's.

Me: What was the way the made it?

Julie: By working together as a team.

Me: Why is it cold down here?

Mark: Well, the passage way leads out side to the north of the block.

Me: How do you two know all this?

Mark: Well we did lots of research, we researched almost for 5 days.

Me: Wow that was interesting. Now thanks for the report on this. Zainib is signing off in ...5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Bye!

How can we keep the environment clean? What can we do to save the environment?

Let's see. You can keep the environment clean by using the three R's. The three R's are Recycle, Reduce and Reuse.

The first question is answered. Let's answer the second question. You can save the environment by not throwing litter and doing the three R's. And that is the answer to the second question. So let's start to save the environment.

On February 19, 2008 I made it to the science fair at Villa Maria Academy. I did "How Are Some Soils More Absorbent Than Others." I was a little nervous because I thought I wasn't going to do well. But even though I didn't make any places, I was still proud of myself that I made to the next round. I think News Flash 5 is awesome!

Coach Had Died

How ever did you know that Coach Gibbs died because of a serious heart attack. He was 78. I guess that all the screaming got his lungs out.

How would you feel if you died because the team felt really ashamed for not listening to Coach Gibbs. I would like a moment of silence to remember him. What a serious heat attack. Poor man. Thank you. Have a great day and stay out of trouble.

Cafeteria Food

The lunch at Rainbow Elementary School has terrible lunches. The milk tastes rotten. I think kids there deserve better food, and milk. Now people aren't happy. Why is it Rainbow, I don't know. The food must taste better. The students don't think they can take a stand (but I heard that two kids from fifth grade did.) That's all this story says. So I guess, I'm out!

The Boats has a game with the Burns. Today at 12 o'clock, the Junior Boats and the Burns went to Alvert Box Field to play. They came here to win. Both are some of the best teams in the FY (front yard) league. Last year, the Boats won the most shiny cup of all cups. Long way till they find out about this year. Today was the first game.

Here are the Boats: Reese, Tiffany, Vicki, Kenny, Brian, Pablo and Tony

Now for the Burns: Alvin, Mikey Kimberley, Paxton, Heather and Blue

Now let's see the game.

Boats started with the ball. Vicki passes to Reese. Reese knocks down poor Blue Vic. Reese was caught with that foul. Blue has the ball. She passes to Alvin. Pablo got the ball. Pablo running down the field. Pablo shoots and just made it past the goalie. Burns' ball. Kimberley has it and is running. Passes it to Alvin. Vicki stole it from Alvin. Vicki runs the other way to the goal. She kicks and makes it. Now Reese has the ball no one knows it. He and many others snuck balls into the goal. The half time buzzer rings.

Now its half time we are here with Reese.

Reese: Well even though I made the foal at the beginning, now we are at six to zero and we are kicking butt.

Sandy: Reese how did your team do?

Reese: We did great. As long as we scored I am happy.

Sandy: Half time is over and Reese, you need to get back to the game.

We have put two more minutes on the clock. Tiffany has done a riette. She has stolen the ball from Heather, made a goal, stole from Mickey and made her second goal. But hard times the game ended short with rain. After Vicki got stuck, they called of the game. No worry Vicki is fine but will not play for next week. Tune in next week for more. I am Angela and I am out.

Hi, I am 11 years old. And at first I thought your website would be boring. (because I am 11) But, when I got on I found out how cool your website is.

I really like the arts and tech. (I am really good at using technology and I love to do art) and I like science and weather. (I love science) Your website is AWESOME!

Now, here are some suggestions-

You should make a new mystery. ( from Get the scoop) And maybe you could add a new someone! Like... an animal person. ( I LOVE animals) I know you talk about animals on World News, but it would be cool if you could make an animal person. And that person could be a girl sense you have 3 boys and 2 girls, if you add 1 more girl it would be equal. If you could do that it would be awesome! Thanks for reading!
