Students Protest Dodge Ball Ban!
by Liza, Age 10, of Pacifica, CA
POSTED July 25th, 2007
Students are on a huge strike against the principal for not allowing dodgeball. It's led by Katie K., who is an active member of the student activities commitee.
Katie was highly disappointed when the principal walked in and, in front of everbody, popped a dodgeball. Katie said, "I think that it is wrong to ban something so familiar."
The students are refusing to play in physical education. They are allowed to play Fleet Ball, but to some students that is not enough. Danny C., an active dodgeball player, was so sad that he even cried. This is what he had to say, "Banning dodgeball is the worst thing anybody could do to a child. Yeah, there's jump rope but not a lot of guys play jump rope."
The principal had this to say, "Dodgeball is a sport that influences violence and I think that it sends the wrong message to children."
This dodgeball incident is driving everybody nuts. Tons of parents are angry that dodgeball is off. Even teachers are trying to get it back, but the principal will not budge.
