When you say sharks you are bound to get a reaction. Sharks are the most feared sea creatures. Scary shark movies are the reason for this fear. Jaws is one of the scariest movies. Most people are scared of sharks. They think sharks are here to eat us. Sharks are known to attack, but not as much as you think.

There are over three hundred different kinds of sharks. Some of them are not bigger than your hand; others are bigger than school buses. From the Angel shark to the Whale shark all sharks are magnificent.

Sharks live in the water like fish but they do not have bones like fish though. Their skeleton is made of cartilage. Fish can swim backwards but sharks can only go forward. Sharks have an organ called gills. Fish and sharks get their air from the water using their gills. Kelp and seaweed provide the oxygen they need. The Whale shark can live to be 150 years old.

Many sharks are endangered or extinct. Sharks have been here since the dinosaurs. We need sharks. If we did not have sharks we would have too many fish. There is a greater chance you would be hit by lightning or hit by a car than die by a shark attack. Here are a couple of species of sharks: Great White Shark, Whale Shark, and Angel Shark.

SAVE THE SHARKS. ALL OF THEM!
