What you need for this ZOOMdo:
Disappearing Quarter:
  • a quarter
  • napkin
Disappearing Salt Shaker:
  • a nickel
  • salt shaker
  • a napkin
  • table
  • chair

What you do for this ZOOMdo:

  1. Disappearing Quarter:
  2. To do this trick, hold the quarter in your hand, between your thumb and your index finger. The palm of your hand should be facing your body.
  3. Now practice passing the quarter from your right hand to your left hand. If you're left handed, you can hold the quarter in your left hand. It's good to do this so you know what it's supposed to look like when you pretend to pass the quarter. That way you can fake it better.

  1. Now, for the magic. This time instead of passing the quarter to your other hand, you're going to say the magic words, "ZOOMa, ZOOMa, ZOOM, Make this coin leave the room!" and use the index and middle fingers on your empty left hand to knock the quarter into your right hand.

  1. You still pretend to grab the quarter with your left hand, as you are dropping it into your right hand.

  1. Keep practicing and soon you will be able to do this trick like a pro!

  1. Disappearing Salt Shaker:
  2. This is a really fun trick to do at a restaurant while you're waiting for your food to arrive. You will need to be sitting down at a table for this trick.
  3. First, say, "watch me, the great (your name), as I make this nickel disappear by rubbing it with the salt shaker."
  4. Now, cover the salt shaker with the napkin and put your hands over it.
  5. Place the salt shaker, now covered with the napkin, on top of the nickel, and say the magic words, "ZOOMa, ZOOMa, ZOOM, Make this coin leave the room!" and then take the napkin with the salt shaker off the table. The coin is still on the table. Now pretend that you are disappointed because the coin didn't disappear and the trick has failed.
  6. Then, while the napkin with the shaker is off the table, open your hands and let the salt shaker fall into your lap. The napkin will still look like the shaker is in it. Then say, "Let me try that again!"
  7. Now, place your hands over the "shaker" and say the magic words, "ZOOMa, ZOOMa, ZOOM, Make this coin leave the room!"
  8. Push down on the napkin, and it will seem like the salt shaker has fallen through the table!
  9. Your audience will be amazed!
